@msaeed26198 Agreed, sharp realist take. Inconclusive wars become bargaining contests shaped by signaling, perception and audience costs. Avoiding media diplomacy and enabling face-saving exits is key. But who will tell POTUS to avoid X diplomacy, belittling, and boasting?

Inconclusive war (without a clear winner) often transits into quest for stronger bargaining position predicated on half truths , from both sides. This quest is mostly reckless , endless and fraught with risks. International community is being kept on tenterhooks by Iran and US’ pursuit of dominant position on the table after contested claims of victory at the time of ceasefire. Likewise , when the party initiating an illegal / unjust campaign does not plan a clear exit strategy during preparatory stage then crafting it midway without defeating the enemy becomes very difficult . A few steps that can help overcome the impasse can be :- - both sides , particularly US commits not to conduct diplomacy through media . - both sides commit to mediators for not resorting to offensive public posturing . - US agrees to live with a reality ; Iran won’t accept a solution which undermines their national honour , dignity and is interpreted as surrender . Not only the US offer should be an honourable exit for Iran , it must also be presented in a dignified way . - Iran must realistically review their residual military, diplomatic and economic potential before rejecting changed US position on unacceptable conditions of first round . - China and Russia need to play more proactive role for complimenting the unprecedented efforts of sole mediator.

Iran secretly acquired a Chinese spy satellite in late 2024 that enabled it to target United States military bases across the Middle East during the recent war, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday. The TEE-01B satellite — built and launched by Chinese company Earth Eye Co — was obtained by the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps after being sent into orbit from China, the report said, citing leaked Iranian military documents. Iranian commanders used the satellite to monitor major US military sites, the FT said, citing time-stamped coordinate lists, satellite imagery and orbital analysis. The images were captured in March, before and after drone and missile strikes on those locations. As part of the arrangement, the IRGC was granted access to commercial ground stations operated by Emposat, a Beijing-based satellite control and data services provider with a global network.
