@netanyahu If christians do not worship idols why are they feeling sad by a demolition of a statue, did Christians worship that statue? If yes, then they sinned.

As the Jewish state, Israel cherishes and upholds the Jewish values of tolerance and mutual respect between Jews and worshippers of all faiths. All religions flourish in our land and we view members of all faiths as equals in building our society and region.
Yesterday, like the overwhelming majority of Israelis, I was stunned and saddened to learn that an IDF soldier damaged a Catholic religious icon in southern Lebanon. I condemn the act in the strongest terms. Military authorities are conducting a criminal probe of the matter and will take appropriately harsh disciplinary action against the offender.
While Christians are being slaughtered in Syria and Lebanon by Muslims, the Christian population in Israel thrives unlike elsewhere in the Middle East. Israel is the only country in the region that the Christian population and standard of living is growing. Israel is the only place in the Middle East that adheres to freedom of worship for all. We express regret for the incident and for any hurt this has caused to believers in Lebanon and around the world.

Islamic Scholars and the development of Physics and Mathematics ▲
Mathematics and physics were greatly developed by ancient Islamic scholars and scientists during the Golden Age of Islam, which spanned from the 8th to the 13th century.
Al-Khwarizmi (c. 780-850): He is considered the father of algebra, a term derived from his book al-Kitab al-mukhtasar fi hisab al-jabr wa’l-muqabala (The Compendious Book on Calculation by Completion and Balancing). He also introduced the Arabic numerals and the decimal system to the Western world, and wrote influential works on astronomy, geography, and trigonometry.
Ibn al-Haytham (c. 965-1040): He is regarded as the father of modern optics, as he made significant contributions to the theory and practice of optics, vision, and light. He wrote the Kitab al-Manazir (Book of Optics), which was a landmark in the history of physics and psychology. He also studied the laws of reflection and refraction, the nature of colors, the structure of the eye, and the mechanism of vision. He also proposed the scientific method of experimentation and observation, and criticized Aristotle’s physics.
Omar Khayyam (c. 1048-1131): He was a renowned poet, mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher. He is best known for his Rubaiyat, a collection of quatrains that express his views on life, love, and fate. He also contributed to algebra, geometry, number theory, and binomial theorem. He also calculated the length of the solar year with remarkable accuracy, and devised a calendar reform that was more accurate than the Gregorian calendar.
Al-Biruni (c. 973-1048): He was a polymath who excelled in various fields of science, such as astronomy, mathematics, physics, geodesy, geography, geology, mineralogy, chemistry, pharmacology, anthropology, history, and linguistics. He wrote over 146 books on various topics, and is considered one of the greatest scholars of all time.
He measured the radius and circumference of the Earth using trigonometry, determined the specific gravity of various substances using hydrostatics, described the heliocentric model of the solar system, and studied the motion of planets and comets.
Al-Farabi (c. 872-950): He was a philosopher, logician, musician, and scientist who wrote influential works on metaphysics, ethics, political philosophy, cosmology, psychology, music theory, and logic. He synthesized the ideas of Plato and Aristotle with Islamic theology, and developed his own system of classification of sciences. He also studied sound waves and musical harmony, and invented several musical instruments.
These contributions from ancient Islamic scholars laid the groundwork for the advancement of physics and mathematics in the subsequent centuries. Their works were translated and disseminated in Europe during the Middle Ages, playing a crucial role in the Renaissance and the development of modern science and mathematics.

Archives | On 2 September 2023, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Udhayanidhi Stalin compared the Sanatana Dharma—which translates to “eternal religion”—to diseases such as dengue and malaria, arguing it was not enough to oppose it but that it should be eradicated. Immediately, several Bharatiya Janata Party leaders and upper-caste journalists were up in arms, claiming Stalin had hurt the sentiments of all Hindus. Hardeep Singh Puri, the union minister of petroleum and natural gas, said the Sanatana Dharma was “India’s culture and civilisation,” and called those who were speaking against it “brain-damaged.” Jyotiraditya Scindia, the civil-aviation minister, said it was “the foundation of India.” Another union minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, resorted to threats, stating that Hindus would “pull out tongues” and “pluck out eyes” of people who spoke against the Sanatana Dharma. Shekhawat was repeating the forms of punishments prescribed for various caste transgressions in the Manusmriti.
There have been many think pieces ever since, with various conservative thought leaders exalting the virtues of Sanatana Dharma. For all intents and purposes, the Sanatana Dharma gained ground as an idea in the nineteenth century in colonial India, in opposition to the religious reforms sought by the Arya Samaj. One of its main tenets was adhering to the caste hierarchy enshrined in Hindu texts.

VIDEO | Dhaka: Humayun Kabir, Adviser to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, speaks to PTI on India’s concerns regarding the safety and security of minorities, especially Hindus in Bangladesh.
He says, “For the last 15 years under the Hasina regime, there have been deep and disturbing concerns that the foreign policy was more aligned with India’s foreign policy rather than Bangladesh’s. These concerns will continue to exist. What we want are balanced relations. We will not limit our relationships to a single country, and we will not accept any agreements that prevent us from doing business with others. We will avoid such agreements and disclosures.”
He added, “The minority violence seen in India does not exist in the same form in Bangladesh, where communal harmony prevails. After the 5th August uprising, Bangladesh was without a government for five days, yet no one attacked minorities, as our leader, Tarique Rahman, urged people to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands. He provided calm leadership to ensure stability until the interim government was formed. In Bangladesh, Muslims and minorities live together peacefully, and communal harmony is strong.”

Rahul Gandhi’s recent Germany visit has raised important questions that deserve public scrutiny.
During the visit, he interacted with Cornelia Woll, a prominent academic associated with institutions that are often linked, directly or indirectly, to global political funding networks. There is ample information in public domain that several such networks have received support from organizations connected to George Soros and his Open Society ecosystem.
While no official clarification has been offered about the purpose or outcomes of this meeting, the overlap between international political activism, funding networks, and Indian domestic politics naturally invites questions. When Leader of Opposition engages with influential global actors abroad, transparency becomes essential.
Public life demands accountability. Instead of dismissing these clandestine meetings as “conspiracy theories,” it would be healthier for India’s democracy if clear explanations were provided about the intent, context, and implications of such foreign engagements.
Indians have a right to know.
