#BREAKING: Somalia signs Saudi Port Deal After Withdrawing from UAE Agreements Somalia’s Federal Government has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia to develop port infrastructure and enhance maritime transport services, the Ports Ministry said, adding the deal will also promote investment and strengthen Somalia’s role along a strategic regional waterway. The agreement comes weeks after Mogadishu withdrew from all port deals with the United Arab Emirates, including those covering Bosaso and Berbera ports, moves opposed by Puntland and Somaliland, with no changes yet implemented on the ground.

Sleepy Somaliland Port Authority clarify whether this move is linked in any way to the recent visit to Saudi Arabia by former Alshabab fighter and Somalia’s current Ports Minister, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur(tiktok minister).

Social media should be restricted in Somalia. What’s happening to the youth is concerning, a few are followings trends trying to appear modern, at the expense of their culture and modesty.

#Somalia SaudiArabia expands shipping routes linking #Somalia's Berbera Port in Somaliland state, 16 global hubs Saudi Ports Authority has launched new maritime shipping services connecting its ports to 17 regional and international destinations, including #Somaliland Berbera Port in a move aimed at strengthening trade routes across Asia, Middle East and Africa. The initiative links Saudi ports with major global hubs as part of the Kingdom’s broader push to position itself as a global logistics centre under its Vision 2030 program. The new services connect Saudi ports to 17 destinations, including key ports in China such as Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha and Shekou; Singapore; Sokhna in Egypt; Aqaba in Jordan; Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India; as well as Djibouti, Berbera, Hamad Port, Umm Qasr Port, Khalifa Port in Bahrain, Shuwaikh Port and Shuaiba Port. The authority said the expanded routes are expected to improve cargo movement, ease pressure on supply chains, and provide greater flexibility for exporters and importers, while reinforcing links with major global trade corridors. horndiplomat.com

Compromised mercenaries are holding positions of power and influence. This is a man who doesn’t even believe in the existence of the country he is serving, yet holds responsibilities that affect the nation’s future. Public office requires integrity, independence, and accountability. Those who are compromised should hold no office.

One of @Abdirahmanirro biggest mistakes so far has been appointing @majgalaal as ambassador to one of our most important allies. He is antisemitic, anti-Somaliland, and anti-Taiwan. On his X profile, he has yet to congratulate or celebrate the recognition of the Republic of Somaliland. He previously failed as ambassador to Ethiopia under the former government and was dismissed. He also holds the view that recognition by Israel is a waste of time, likely influenced by his direct superior, Hersi, and his affiliations with Ictisaam. He has even claimed that recognition from Ethiopia would be no different from a city in the UK recognising a country, which is incorrect. His time in Taiwan has been an abject failure, and he is now back in Somaliland alongside corrupt businessmen, seeking to sell the country’s minerals for his own benefit and that of his associates.

A friend of mine shared this clip containing insulting comments about Somali culture, especially uncles. In the clip, the men argue that Somali culture needs to change, describing it as retarded. Their argument rests on three points: (1) Somali uncles regard taking children to a park as embarrassing—one states, "a grown uncle going to the park and taking the kids out to play football is embarrassing, man." An Egyptian man, pictured with his father and hero imam brother in another setting, interjects: "And they're chilling in a café having a tea." The core argument is that, you will not see Somali uncles taking children to the park. (2) These uncles, they uttered, instead pass the time in cafés discussing tribalism. (3) They have passed the troubles of the homeland down to us, the next generation here. Before I address the flaws in their argument, one must contextualise the following observations. First, these men are in their mid-to-late forties. Hence, their metaphorical uncles would be in their seventies. With that in mind, two aspects stand out; one factor explains their rationale and my two cents for them: The aspects: (1) A seventy-year-old uncle is not normally expected to play football with children. (2) It is they themselves—the speakers—to whom their own argument actually applies. Making sense of their rationale: an inferiority complex. Somalis have a saying: naftiisa daryeela tukale ku dara—which may be translated as, ‘those who look after themselves are able to extend help to others.’ My two cents, therefore, is as follows: prioritise your own well-being, and recognise that being overweight is no longer in vogue.

Watch: The hunger and severe economic hardship in Somaliland. The people have reached a point where they can barely afford anything beyond tea. Dictator @Abdirahmanirro has squeezed the livelihoods of the Somaliland population. Can this situation continue like this?

🔹️Republic of Somaliland: "We never trusted the United Nations🇺🇳 and we were right not to. When Republic of Somaliland saw its sovereignty being usurped by the UN, we kicked them out. Clear message: this land answers to its own people, not foreign suits playing “babysitter.” After 30+ years and tens of billions burned in Somalia/Mogadishu, what’s the result? Same chaos, recycled “solutions,” more terror. A whole UN industry of failure. Meanwhile, Somaliland? Peace built from scratch. Militias disarmed. Institutions standing. Elections held. No UN. We were proven right to kick them out!"
