@primetime0552 @thump_sr @JOSH4LLENBURNER Unserious take. Maye didn't lead squat. He had the easiest schedule of the millennium (not an exaggeration, '99 Rams was the most recent easier schedule), and LAC/HOU tripped over themselves trying to let the Pats win. But for Nix's freak ankle injury, they'd have been stomped

@Eric_In_Osaka @romanhelmetguy No, they're acknowledging that it is a fact of human nature that in any vocation there will be a subset of false teachers/bad actors who use their platform/power to further their own ends. The actions of these do not make the foundational science or religion incorrect.

@romanhelmetguy I find it amusing that anti-science people so often equate members of the science community to religious leaders, while implying a negative connotation to that role. From my perspective it seems like they're admitting religion is bunk by the comparison.

People haven’t lost trust in “science,” they’ve lost trust in a self-selected self-perpetuating academic priest class who rely on constant alarmism or revisionism to secure funding and who look upon dissent as heretical to an extent that would make the medieval church blush.
Simon Maechling@simonmaechling

The collapse of trust in science is going to go down in history as one of the most sad, bizarre, and destructive social contagions of modern times. We fed billions, cured diseases and powered nations - yet people ran toward conspiracies instead.

@MeruemsRose @1stQBinHistory @gmfb He didn't necessarily make an error though. He posted the team wins, yes, but that naturally shows that Lamar's QB wins count is impossible, and a little extra knowledge would make it obvious that Allen's is incorrect as well.

@MeruemsRose @1stQBinHistory @gmfb A) How did Lamar win more games than the Ravens did? B) How did Allen win 5 fewer games than the Bills did despite starting (and finishing all but 1) all those games?

@gmfb The Bills have won 36 regular season games over the last 3 seasons and only 2025 W18 had a QB other than Allen take the majority of snaps. Not to mention 4 postseason wins in those years.

@habsnation27 @thadbrown7 Buffalo definitely didn't get a week off, considering their series ended on Friday, Montreal's ended on Sunday, and Game 1 was on Wednesday.

Lightning didn't score 4 goals on Montreal in 7 games. And that's with four overtime games. #Sabres needed a period and a half.

@Possiedii @LucasSWGirl Like different lengths of days and years? That's covered in other media: all planets use the Coruscant day and year for timekeeping, which is exactly the standard that would be needed in a galactic government.

@s__marshal_ @piratecane @hell_line0 On an individual level, no. The scores my children get have no direct impact on their life, so I have no motivation to influence them fraudulently. As a statistic, I reference the higher scores because it supports my decision to keep my kids out of public school.

The fact that Americans can just not send their kids to school and call it that “homeschooling” is crazy to me.

@s__marshal_ @piratecane @hell_line0 Depends. Sometimes the tests are online, some are proctored at local public schools. Speaking as a homeschooling parent, I could not possibly care enough about my kids' grade on these tests to facilitate fraud on them. It doesn't get us funding or any other benefit.

@DanielsbarkerDb @garrettham_esq What point are you making here? The OT is basically a revolving story of Israel apostatizing and returning to God over and over and over.

@garrettham_esq Its like christians believe Israel turned their back on God almost immediately and stayed turned away for 1500 years before the messiah came to redeem them.

Protestantism's deepest assumption is that Christianity went wrong almost immediately and stayed wrong for 1,500 years. That's not a small claim. It's the entire premise of the movement.

Naval Academy graduate Joe Cardona used to be my Navy Reserve shipmate. He had a deferment of active duty to play for the Patriots. He used to bring in his Super Bowl rings and let folks get pictures wearing them. I always declined thinking I would melt if I touched them, but he was a great guy. The rules over whether you can defer your service have changed several times over the years. Long ago Roger Staubach himself only started his NFL career after serving four years active duty. But right now Heidenreich should be good to play if he makes the final roster. A few years ago the Riverhounds had on their roster Naval Academy grad Joe Greenspan who also had a similar deferment.
