Back home in Samut Prakan! That 7-hour economy class flight from Almaty - through the night - was brutal. I feel like it'll take me a week to recover. Bangkok Airport was brilliant. Waltzed through immigration in minutes. No queues at all. And luggage came though straight away. Tun commented on how Bangkok can sometimes feel like the most welcoming of airports, and you do wonder where all the horror stories come from. Anyway, that smooth arrival was just what we needed after a tough night flight. Good to be home!

The footage shows the van trying to drive through a railway crossing while warning alarms were sounding and the crossing barriers were already descending. The van then suddenly slowed and stopped on the tracks, apparently after the driver panicked, preventing the barrier from fully closing. Railway crossing staff rushed to the scene and urgently signalled the driver to move the vehicle off the tracks before the approaching train arrived. According to the post, railway personnel had to radio the train operator to brake from a distance as villagers and officials shouted and waved for the van to move. The crossing worker was also forced to run onto the tracks to clear the vehicle, risking his own safety. The train was able to stop in time and no injuries were reported. Went out for lunch and had to cross Thonglor at soi 23. They have resurfaced 1/2 the road, so no markings at the crossing. I feared the worse, but all cars stopped, but when we got to the second half with markings not one car stopped. Waited for break in the traffic
