You’re dodging the point. Yes some neighborhoods in the city are good. But the CBD/downtown is the focal point of any city. And the CBD in STL is an embarrassment. I love STL to the moon and back. But I know that if you truly love someone or something you’ll be honest in your assessments. You can put lipstick on a pig but it’s still a pig. Sorry if this hurts anyone’s feelings. Actually no I’m not sorry….grow up and take a reality break

@clantro417 It used to be one of the four largest cities in the U.S. Now it’s not. No one is hiding from the data. But, hey, do venture into the neighborhoods next time you visit. The city has plenty of thriving ones.

Everyone is probably at the zoo, art museum, or strolling Tower Grove Park — all of which are free. Or, in line at Pappy’s, maybe the Gramophone. I mean … have you tried the sandwiches there?!!!

Downtown is better NOW vs 2000? Wtf are you talking about? Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. We had the Rams. Downtown was really cool. It’s a ghost town now. More and more businesses leaving each year. Like I said….different strokes for different folks but I don’t know how you square that

@RegionalTVCat People are more entrenched in their political bunkers now more so than even 2019. That comes before regional pride now unfortunately. That’s the main difference I see. I moved to the STL region in 2000 and think downtown is much better now with BPV, etc. Covid took a toll too.

In 2019 Kris Bryant called St. Louis boring and local folks were ticked. This week Mets broadcasters went into more detail, but essentially made similar comments and a lot of folks on social media agreed with them. Not judging the comments, but why the change in reaction?

I never got the impression the #NHL didn’t want Russia participating in Four Nations tourney or the Olympics. I was told certain countries told the #NHL they would not participate if Russia was involved.

Oh I agree. They won’t go if Russia is there. I don’t think they’re bluffing. But I think they are kind of bullied into taking that stance. Hence the virtue signaling. I will never believe that the players on those teams would truly not want to play if Russia was there. They would probably never admit it so I guess we’ll never know. But that is just my opinion on how it’s playing out behind the scenes. Either way, they should get the politics out of this and play the friking games
