@shubvastav and I had a great time judging the @ycombinator GTM Hackathon last Sunday! Huge thanks to @VihaarNandigala, @xdenuzzo, and @waynesutton for such a fun event 🙌 Saw some really cool ideas, from drone swarm ads in the sky to always-on outbound engines. GTM playbooks for software startups are evolving faster than their products are, and we have a few predictions at @trycruitical ourselves on some trends we're expecting to see more of:

We spent months on the streets of San Francisco, stopping strangers, asking real candidates and hiring managers what they actually feel about the way hiring works right now. Not one ended with someone saying the system works. We're building @cruitical toward a world where the best people always find the right work, and the best companies always find the people who make them great; where no one with real ability gets buried because of a keyword filter. This is just the start.

Today, we're announcing the death of the resume. And the launch of Cruitical. We spoke with over 600 people on the streets of San Francisco, and we now see the problem clearer than anyone. Hiring has never been more broken, both sides are losing, and it's reaching a cataclysmic state faster than people realize. It was never designed to find the truth, it was designed to filter. @trycruitical gives employers a complete picture of every candidate before the first interview -- how they think, how they learn, how they perform under real conditions. And gives candidates a way to be seen for what they actually are, and get better.

We got rejected from @ycombinator (was nice to hear that we were in the top 10%), but I was just so proud of our Founder Video that I had to share it here. In February, when @shubvastav suggested moving to SF, I thought it was a bit early. Not a single day goes by when serendipity doesn't prove me wrong. We were about to film from our desks, then realized we were literally a 6-minute walk from the YC office. I've heard "YC doesn't like theatrics" -- but I couldn't resist making their signboard a character in our video. We often take for granted how amazing it is to be living right where our customers (and investors) are. Just keep going places, meeting people, and let the universe work its magic. @trycruitical didn't get in this season, and that's okay -- everyone makes mistakes when evaluating talent at scale. We're fixing that!
