@Risichad I just tried it, and the pixel art version works too, but I find it less impressive than the realistic style especially now that there are so many great post-processing filters available to create pixel art.

I'm testing tree generation using only two reference images. Basically, my Gaussian Splatting generation technique works with almost anything. I can't wait to see the final result once I’ve gathered a huge library of realistic assets for my game. For optimization, I’m planning to use a LOD system that dynamically reduces the number of Gaussian splats based on the distance from the camera.

I like weird game dev challenges. Someone asked me if my workflow could turn a single 2D auto-battler reference image + one character spritesheet into a playable prototype. So I tested it. Workflow: GPT image 2.0: reference image → gameplay mockup → character spritesheet → Codex with GPT 5.5: structured prompt → browser prototype First step: GPT Image 2.0 generated the gameplay mockup and the spritesheet. Next tweet: the prototype running in browser.

@thsottiaux I feel as if the intelligence of ChatGPT and Codex has swapped these days. I know they are running on the same GPT-5.5, and Codex elements were integrated into the LLM by the last update. ChatGPT's Thinking Mode has become a better planner for me than Codex

Codex team is aware of reports of GPT-5.5 performing worse for some users and investigating. We don't have anything conclusive yet and systems are healthy but we will share updates as we go.
