Hurricane Helene aftermath – Cocke County Jenny and I joined city and county leaders of Cocke County yesterday evening in their Emergency Operations Center to discuss their challenges.  The good news is that water and electricity is expected to be back up everywhere by the end of the week.  However, over 250 homes are deemed unlivable, and all the local restaurants are closed. Downtown Newport suffered due to being next to the Pigeon River. The Cocke County Town Hall building is beyond repair and has to be relocated.
