The X algorithm powers the "For You" feed using a Grok-based transformer model. It mixes posts from followed accounts (via Thunder) and out-of-network ones (via Phoenix ML retrieval).
Process: Hydrate user data, source candidates, enrich with metadata, filter out unwanted (e.g., muted, spam), score via engagement predictions (likes, replies, etc.), select top-ranked, and apply final checks.
Key: Fully learned relevance, no heuristics; promotes author diversity. Details at github.com/xai-org/x-algo…

We have open-sourced our new 𝕏 algorithm, powered by the same transformer architecture as xAI's Grok model.
Check it out here: github.com/xai-org/x-algo…
Elon Musk@elonmusk
We will make the new 𝕏 algorithm, including all code used to determine what organic and advertising posts are recommended to users, open source in 7 days. This will be repeated every 4 weeks, with comprehensive developer notes, to help you understand what changed.

SpaceX will be clustering scaled up V3 Starlinks together using laser links to form a decentralized space data center!
That will be much easier than physically assembling data centers in space, and they already have the tech.
This is huge.

Elon Musk@elonmusk
@SciGuySpace Simply scaling up Starlink V3 satellites, which have high speed laser links would work. SpaceX will be doing this.

Rallies my car down a sketchy path onto the beach, stages it for a photo op, bust out the dslr with fancy lens and filters, transfer files to laptop to edit them for 10mins, rip a hot spot from my phone so I can post on X for 25 views likely almost all bots 🫡🤠

I can now edit good photos on the fly!

@corbinwilliams @teslaownersSV @wholemars @DirtyTesLa @LAFD @LAFDtalk @CHPWestValley @niccruzpatane @SawyerMerritt The third-party logistics (3PL) semi-truck caught fire first. Thankfully, the driver is ok; unfortunately the Teslas sustained damage.
We will be looking to replace the vehicles for our intended customers as soon as we can. A very unfortunate accident.

@JLopas @basepowerco Love this. You should show first and second derivative over the past week as well! How fast is your rate of increase increasing?!
English

We track tons and tons of metrics.
This is the number you see when you first walk in the front door of the office @basepowerco
This one - and its rate of change - matters the most.

I use my M3 MacBook Pro to run CAD inside parallels - it works great. Parallels is fantastic and makes it feel like windows apps are running natively on your Mac desktop - it is seamless. I can’t speak to how well it handles gigantic models, but for everyday professional workflows it has worked well for me. Totally recommend this path.
English

Totally. Best overall car on the planet. Safest vehicle ever built, best technology, awesome driving dynamics, super efficient and cheap to run, literally zero maintenance, practical with giant liftgate style trunk, gets better with software updates over time, FSD drives you, etc. We do incredible things with safety engineering that other auto manufacturers just aren’t capable of doing. Model Y should be the baseline car choice for every buyer out there.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy
@mattyglesias I’m obsessed with my Model Y. Feels like a car from the future, self-drives me everywhere, ridiculous acceleration, and never have to deal with getting gas.

@raveeshbhalla @deedydas @_sholtodouglas @swyx It would be super interesting to try and plot a few data points for human intelligence on this same chart for comparison

@deedydas @_sholtodouglas As @swyx’s Pareto frontier graph shows, Gemini is arguably the real story of the past few months

@BillAckman engineer with 11 years at SpaceX & Tesla here. Did some work independently on this problem after the 2018 fires in LA.
Autonomous fixed wing aircraft with existing automotive electric drivetrains (battery + motors) looks promising from first principles to drastically reduce cost per kg-mi of water payload for this use case over conventional aircraft. There's typically short ranges between water sources & fires so electric energy storage + autonomy are the key to making these drones super simple.
Easy to imagine dozens to hundreds of these simple aircraft able to deploy rapidly and decrease time & cost to douse growing fires significantly from current operational systems.
Could engineer this with a relatively small team
English

Putting out fires before they spread does not seem like a serious technological challenge in a world with @SpaceX, @xai and @anduriltech.
So @elonmusk and @PalmerLuckey, why don’t we start a company that uses satellites, AI, and drone technology to put out fires before they spread?
One can envision satellite monitoring, rapid drone investigation, and drone swarm water delivery. The number of drones sent to extinguish the fire and the nature of the extinguishing agent (water, foam, dry or wet chemicals etc) would be a function of the nature and scale of the fire. No human lives would be put a risk and there is no risk of DEI involvement in drone selection.
What do you think? I would love to invest.
And it would be very good for real estate values in California.
