Didn’t the storm in Bristol today have a name? We have a bit of rain and win and there’s all sorts of names yet a mega storm (insert technical name for it here) that causes airports to close due to lightning and mental thunder doesn’t get one? Any ideas @DerekTheWeather?

@goose120541 @UK_Dispatch_ The wife’s plane was diverted to Gatwick from Bristol - currently in an Uber on the way back 😂 It was bonkers, the pics that I saw!

@turfstudio_x @UK_Dispatch_ Yes a huge supercell thunderstorm moved through a few hours ago - experts confirmed it was a rare supercell around 12.5km tall with an overshooting top (rare in UK, supercells are more typically found in the American Midwest - tornado alley)

@HanaHoops There’s never been a need for it previously unless the temperature is extreme. In Europe, it’s not required. In many games in USA and Canada it’s not required. It’s typical Yank nonsense, ads galore. It’s not about the players…

@ospreylian3 Not bitter at all, I worked for ospreys for 10 years in Swansea. Just stating a fact that lots of people who I’ve spoken to in rugby circles don’t fancy the trek to St Helens given it’s a bit of a ball ache to get there.

@turfstudio_x No idea. You sound bitter that St Helen’s was chosen over the Brewery.

Completely random question and I’ve not heard anything to suggest this could happen… Would people from Neath, PT, Bridgend etc continue to support the Ospreys if they rebranded as the ‘Swansea Ospreys’ if it helped win a tender or get into any Anglo-Welsh league?

@ospreylian3 Isn’t that the main sponsor of St. Helen’s currently? I mean in general. There’s no appetite to make longer journey to St Helen’s than the Swansea.com

@turfstudio_x If they were called Swansea? Or just in general? What’s with the Trade Centre Wales name?

@Bluekangaroo21 @BBCSportWales @PenybontFC_ Maybe so, but they're doing something to change the perceived lack of atmosphere. Arguably will be better for away fans to travel on Friday nights for the local ish games. You won't get loads travelling long distances away regardless of it being Friday or Saturday.

@turfstudio_x @BBCSportWales @PenybontFC_ It depends whether you think numbers create an atmosphere or having away fans. In my opinion the staleness of the Cymru Prem has been due to the lack of desire from fans to travel and create a proper football atmosphere. The second tier is better because of the proximity.

@Bluekangaroo21 @BBCSportWales I disagree. Those players playing locally who can't attend on a saturday, can on a Friday. Same with those who play rugby, hockey on saturday afternoon. Friday nights are the way forward. I've seen at @PenybontFC_ far bigger Friday night crowds and better atmospheres, regularly.

@BBCSportWales It's not going to help create an atmosphere as it's going to reduce away support. I would prefer encouraging away travel not making it harder.

I see so far this World Cup, it’s been the turn of Lee Dixon to be the social media punchbag. For my money, tonight he’s been pretty good. Co-commentator is THE hardest role to fill in any broadcast, you’re looking for insight, personality and chemistry with the lead comm.
