The market needs Cache added specifically to the Active Duty tournament pool, not just released into the game. I missed this. Big difference
A new map has never been added to Active Duty the same day it ships
Train shipped Nov 13, 2024 in Casual/Competitive only. Active Duty add came 75 days later, after Shanghai Major
The pattern across the last 4 rotations is clean. Active Duty changes only happen after a Major. Lags ranged from 24 to 45 days
IEM Cologne ends June 21. Even the fastest lag puts the next change past the June 30 deadline
Sold my June 30 Yes at break-even and started building No on April 30 at ~88c
Cologne hasn't even started, so an Active Duty change before then breaks every precedent Valve has set

Polymarket never gave an easier read Valve just swapped the @CounterStrike twitter banner to a screenshot of Cache Last time they did this was November 5, 2024. Banner turned into Train. 9 days later, November 14, Train dropped in CS2. Following the launch of the edgeX points program, the program attracted liquidity and large traders who provided liquidity and supported the platform’s early-stage growth. These participants took part in the program on the same basis as all other users, with the post-weighting distribution criteria applied consistently across all participants. Their resulting points balance reflected the scale of liquidity they contributed under the same program rules. pumpcade is not your average prediction market. i think you've heard this often by now, but i'm not talking about its crazy new features. i'm talking about how it actually works.
traditional markets let you buy shares. you buy 10 shares at 50 cents each, totaling $5 at 50% odds. the higher the odds of your side winning, the higher your shares go, until you win and each share is worth $1.
pumpcade doesn't work with shares. there'd be too little volume on short markets like 1-minute markets, and since so many will be released at the same time, shares simply wouldn't work.
so @pumpcade built something different. simple but genius.
it's a pool-based system. you're betting into a pool and your return depends on how much is on the losing side and how many people bet the same side as you. the more people that join your side, the less you walk away with.
now the obvious question. couldn't someone just wait until the last few seconds, see which side is clearly winning, go in with massive size, and take 90% of the losing pool every single time?
that's where time weighting comes in.
it starts at 1.00x and decays to 0.2x by the end of the market. meaning you're paying 5x more and receiving 5x less than someone who placed the same prediction at the start. yes, you can enter late and have a higher chance of winning, but your payout is significantly reduced.
early bettors are protected. late bettors pay a premium for their certainty. the markets stay healthy.
