It's happening. SpaceX currently has ~18 job postings surrounding Starlink Mobile. Starlink V2 satellites will enable 5G speeds to mobile devices anywhere in the world. This will be a game changer. Elon mentioned a roughly two year timeframe for phone manufacturers to integrate the necessary chipsets/modem support so that new phones can take full advantage. Once rolled out, you will be able to watch videos anywhere on 5G.

I just had a very cool @Tesla_AI FSD 14.3.2 experience today ... I was coming back from Giga Texas on a rural highway in south Texas & there was an upcoming construction zone with a flagman. Plenty of signs leading up to the flagman & FSD was being noticeably cautious as if it was aware that something was different. When I came up towards the flagman, I saw he was holding a sign with a "Stop" on one side & a "slow" on the other, with the "Stop" mostly facing my car. FSD also noticed this & began to smoothly slow down as if to stop, but then the flagman saw I was slowing down, looked up at his sign, realized it was not showing "slow" as he had expected, turned the sign around & waved me through. FSD did not miss a beat, saw the "slow" sign & the hand waving gestures by the flagman & proceeded right through ... smooth, no drama & exactly as a human would handle this situation. As an occasional Uber Driver, I have done over 300 passenger rides by now. I use FSD for 100% of my rides. For the first time ever, I just had passengers who were adamantly opposing my use of FSD. One of them said he doesn’t trust Elon Musk. He is a software engineer, and he says he knows that software isn’t perfect. He doesn’t wanna be the one to edge case that leads to an accident. We had a nice conversation. I tried to appeal to his mathematical mind, arguing that the combination of the system and myself observing is definitely safer than me driving without it. He didn’t wanna hear any of it. Both of them didn’t. Interesting. I did not expect that position from an engineer. Oh and: I felt a lot more nervous, driving entirely myself again. It was over 20 minutes. I do not want to do this anymore. Driving a vehicle is insane.
