We were curious what rendering Bun's rust rewrite would look like if we used our JS based diffs and trees. It worked pretty well, so we added a slider to 100x it. Still works well. 100m+ changed lines in a browser. Pierre Computer Company █

@letstri What git features are you missing?

I use Zed as a code editor and Cursor agents either inside Zed itself or as a separate app, depending on my mood. I hope the problems with LSPs are fixed soon, Git is improved, and then for me, Zed will be the best.

Well, I've been using @zeddotdev as my code editor for almost a month now, here is my short feedback.

@rashimbuilds @zeddotdev Git runs on the host and streams the needed data back go the client.

@zeddotdev how does this work for remote projects? git running on the remote and streaming the graph back, or local rendering off synced metadata?

Yes. I tried other apps and happened on my side too. btw, the way Zed handling this problem makes me feel disappointed. They cannot recognize their app from video, and question user's basic technical knowledge, and then they do not provide any further updates after that comment. Clearly they can do better than this.

@morew4rd @zeddotdev I started working on this, but I can't make any promises for when I'll finish. There's other git graph features that I want to get in first like remote support.

@zeddotdev Very cool, and congrats. Is side-by-side diffs supported in git graph yet, or is it something that will come later? Side-by-side works for me for "normal" diff views right now, but not for git graph.

@zeddotdev 1. why does the whole UI block while a git precommit hook is running? 2. if my git precommit hook fails due to auto-fixing files, can't zed just auto-stage the changes and retry?
