Buyer beware I have pointed it out before every single tech founder keeps their own children away from screens - at home and at school. Steve Bobs. Bill Gates. Mark Zuckerberg. Jeff Bezos.Elon Musk. Same story with every one of them THEY know what the screens do to the brain, especially since they have specifically designed their products for addiction and basically lowering brain function. THAT is why for the first time we have a situation where the next generation is scoring LOWER on cognitive tests. YOU decide for your kids...and for yourself.
Big Brain Business@BigBrainBizness

Brené Brown, researcher and author, on the contradiction she keeps hearing in rooms full of tech billionaires: Her work puts her in rooms where the founders and CEOs of major tech platforms talk openly about how they think. What @BreneBrown hears there unsettles her: "So I hear someone say, 'Hey, you know, tech billionaire, what should my kids study? I'm worried for my kids… they should study coding, physics,' and then five minutes later, as if that answer didn't happen, someone will say, 'What do you attribute your success to?' I mean deeply when you think about it, and the same person will say, 'My deep reading of philosophy and the stoics.'" The contradiction is what stops her: the same people crediting philosophy and the liberal arts for their own success are telling other parents their kids should focus on coding and physics. That gap leads her to a bigger, more uncomfortable question: "I start to extrapolate from there and wonder if there is a thinking class that's emerging where they're like, 'We're going to read philosophy and we're going to read the liberal arts and we're going to study history, and the rest of you just keep scrolling. Don't worry about the big words. We'll handle all the big words for you.'" She points to Steve Jobs as an early signal of the same pattern: "It's like when they asked Steve Jobs, 'Boy, your kids must love the iPad.' Steve Jobs said, 'My kids don't have an iPad.' And then his biographer who spent time with his family said he wasn't kidding. There's no technology. At dinner, they're talking about art and history." The takeaway is simple but uncomfortable. The people building these platforms are protecting their own kids from them, and giving them books, ideas, and real conversation instead. So why are the rest of us being sold something different?

This student raised a genuine issue that many CBSE students are talking about. But the moment his tweet went viral, the entire RW ecosystem, instead of accepting the failure of the system, got busy trying to prove that this poor kid is Pakistani. ABP News literally went to his house and interviewed him regarding the issue, yet these people still won’t accept reality. Their rotten brains cannot think beyond Pakistan and conspiracy theories.

I am a CBSE Class 12 student. After receiving unexpectedly low marks in Physics, we applied for photocopies of my answer sheets through the CBSE reevaluation process. Today we received the copies. And I am shattered because the Physics answer sheet uploaded by CBSE is not mine

Within 3 hours of reevaluation window that was opened for students to apply, 7% of the total 17 Lakhs CBSE 12 board students had alttesdy applied for reevaluation. Seeing the deluge, CBSE stopped publishing the number and extended the date to 24 May. Binary questions were given 1/2 marks. Blurred answer sheets were scored. Right answers were marked wrong . Many NEET /JEE 98 percentile plus scored less than 75% in this exam, disqualifying them from counselling. Now this 👇 Not only NEET, even CBSE 12 board celebrated development festival this year.

Spoke to @TheLallantop about the economy (in Hindi): Albert Hirschman had described "optimal crisis". आपदा में अवसर. For that, if Mr. Modi wants to leave an economic legacy, we need a deep overhaul in decision making at the top--finance, eduction, technology, foreign policy.

Can’t believe I coded by hand for 15 years. 15 years of memorizing syntax, Vim, Stack Overflow, broken builds, cursed dependencies, merge conflicts, and “one last bug before sleep.” All of that just to end up typing “fix this” into a chat box and watching an agent do crimes.

I am currently in a country in South East Asia. The name and the exact location are not important. I have spent two days on an island which is off the mainland of this country. And today I was on another island which is further dislocated from the main island. The pricing for most goods, including restaurants, coffee, and other items are similar to what one would find on mainland. In India, goods in such a place would be jacked up by at least 2x, even as they are more expensive from this country I am currently in. Whenever anyone talks about India's travel potential, they should spend more time understanding the competitive scenario we are in. And the competitive countries and locations should not be the ones where Indians usually travel. For example, the popular destinations in Thailand. But they should be locations where Westerners and people from other parts of the world travel. Our offering is the weakest in terms of infrastructure, cleanliness, accessibility, and pricing. And you can't push somebody to a temple or an old fort every single time they reach your country. Just beating your drum about India is the best is not enough. If India is losing foreign travelers, and countries around South-East Asia are gaining them, both our government and our people need to understand what the problem is and work towards solving it. I am not hopeful, but I dream. PS: one thing which is surprising, even in Indian states where the local governments have proven over a long time to be very able, tourism is one thing they have still not been able to solve for completely.

Agustin Lebron, former Jane Street trader, on a trait he looked for when hiring: "i would love to talk to the person who is the third best player in the world at some weird obscure chess variant." "that tells me they have the willingness to grind and get really good at something, not because there's a pot of gold, but because they find inherent enjoyment in it." they're motivated by the puzzle. the money is just the scoreboard.
