Finally some recognition for humane Nordic capitalism.
Trung Phan@TrungTPhan

The Economist has a great article on why many of Europe’s top companies are Nordic. The region has 0.3% of world’s population (~27m) but contributes 1% of GDP. Top names include: ▫️LEGO (Denmark): World’s top toy maker by revenue. ▫️IKEA (Sweden): Largest furniture maker in the world. ▫️Novo Nordisk (Denmark): Ozempic creator and Europe’s largest company. ▫️Klarna (Sweden): Biggest buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) firm in the world. ▫️Carlsberg (Denmark): 6th largest brewer in the world. ▫️Spotify (Sweden): World’s top music streamer. ▫️Rovio/Supercell (Finland): Leading mobile game developers (“Angry Birds”, “Clash of Clans”). The magazine cites 4 reasons for success: ▫️Internationalization: The Nordic market is small, so ambitious firms have to build for global markets (leading US firms generate 46% of revenue domestically; that figure is just 2% for leading Nordic firms) ▫️Early adopters of technology: LEGO famously rode the plastics revolution in the 1950s and IKEA innovated furniture with flat packing. Today, Nordic firms are faster to digitize than their European counterparts (eg. much higher cloud computing usage) ▫️Government policy: Personal tax rate is high but corporate tax in line with America. High income tax funds social safety net programs that help de-risk entrepreneurial route (also, Heritage Foundation ranks Denmark, Norway, Sweden in top ten of countries worldwide for economic freedom) ▫️Patient shareholders: 4/5ths of “large Nordic companies have long-term ownership, compared with 3/5ths in Europe and only 1/5th in America”, which allows for long-term thinking (private business families — Ikea, LEGO, Maersk, Wallenbergs — are also prominent in region and stymie foreign takeovers) Nordic companies have obviously taken Ls (eg. recent collapse of battery maker Northvolt; previous clapping of Nokia by iPhone). But still impressive results!  *** Full read here: economist.com/business/2024/…

Putin continues to live on cloud Cuckoo Land selling lies and miss information to his own people. This will only back fire on Putin and kill more Russians in the long run. I know from first hand experience that Russians are not completely stupid and they absolutely know when they are being sold lies to prop up a desperate despot dictator. Putin is limited in what he can actually do to escalate things further in this war, other than using Nukes. Actually threatening Nukes every week for the last 5 years has nulled its fear factor, so in my view he is on borrowed time. He needs to end this by the December of 2025 or he is done for in my view, but equally he can’t end it because he is in a worse situation than in 2022 when he started the full scale invasion, and with the added problem of a heavily straining Russian economy and most of it now being spent on the war. 2025 - my prediction, is the make or break of Putin and I think he is doomed.
Anton Gerashchenko@Gerashchenko_en

Russian propagandist Skabeyeva: "The West is boiling. The panic was caused not only by the Russian president's proposal to conduct an experiment with Oreshnik missiles and NATO's advanced air defense systems in Kyiv, but also by how confident Putin is." Sick people.

Now, I could have simply changed the audio to an aircraft noise alone and sent this to any news network or newspaper and this would have run as being a drone. When will journalists do their job? 2/2

To demonstrate the issue we're seeing in New Jersey & the Lakenheath area etc here is real video of an AIRCRAFT captured in the UK. See how it's no different to these supposed "drones" being shown on Fox, NBC, ABC, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc etc. Music added for LOLz. 1/2

On a live stream for Lakenheath tonight there was a craft that could be a drone/sUAS, though almost certainly USAF, the video is too compressed to know. I couldn't hear a multirotor noise. Any USAF drone you'd expect to be Blue UAS. #UFOSightings #UAP #UAPTwitter #sUAS 1/x
