I was wrong about the price of ground beef in New Zealand. Just bought 500g and it cost me $19. That's $38 per kilo -- for ground beef!!!! I can't afford to eat any more :-/

@coldstreams Yeah, only two cases a year here in NZ but to my surprise, apparently the bacterium that causes tetanus is quite common in the environment. I'll need the protection when I fall off my escooter :-)

My last tetanus booster killed my arm for a few days; could lie in bed on that side. Since then, I learned that us old folks here probably don't need the booster anymore. The # of tetanus cases is small and mostly to people who have a reason to be down in the dirt. That said, I've put a nail through my foot once, so there's that ...

Ha... I just had three intramuscular injections (one quite big one and two vaccinations (flu and tetanus booster)). Didn't feel a damned thing. I think my recent hospitalization and two weeks flat on my back doped up with morphine has significantly raised my tolerance of pain.

My local council is now in a state of "deemed refusal" in respect to their obligations under the Privacy Act. They are also now inventing fake clauses in The Act to avoid having to hand over the information I know will be incriminating to them. It's farcical and sad.

There was a time when your only LED design choices were red, green, yellow, and orange, and you were happy and content to have the limited choice. That time was the 1980's and early 90's. The Blue LED wasn't practical until 1993, and the white LED in 1996.

Seriously? This is the standard of literacy in the US Secret Service? Do they not know that "unique" is an absolute? You can't have varying degrees of unique - something is either unique it's not. And they're letting these people fly drones??? FFS!
