The Malawi Human Rights Commission has condemned Blantyre City Council Mayor Isaac Jomo Osman for beating a woman suspected of buying stolen items. But in response to the condemnation, the mayor says he does not regret what he has done and will not apologise.

Today, I chaired the final Cabinet meeting of the outgoing government and later hosted members to a luncheon in appreciation of their dedicated service to our country. This is the Cabinet that ushered Uganda into middle-income status, and I thank everyone who contributed to this achievement, including the Cabinet Secretariat for effectively managing the business of cabinet. I thank them all and wish them good luck.

Sad news: JB Kazoora, a renowned gospel and cultural singer from Mbarara Archdiocese, has passed away due to complications related to diabetes, just a week after his wedding. JB Kazoora was widely known for composing Catholic liturgical songs in Runyankore-Rukiga, including: * Ebirungi Byonkoreire Taata * Reeba Eirembo Rya Mukama * Yesu Mujuni * Tusiime Mukama * Turiyo Nituhingura * Tihariho Ndijo Owakubasa Kutujuna * Reka Nkusiime * Ntume Oha Yeimwe * Nkwata Omukono Taata …among many others that touched countless hearts in faith and worship.
