@hoIIowataraxia @EcoEclipse Yeah, that's about right. I unfortunately have never played XI, but i've found an interest in it due to the Dawntrail Alliance Raid that brings Vana'diel into the narrative. Being able to weave more like that sounds fun.

Not playing because it’s an MMO is crazy. I have 500+ hours in the game and I can confidently tell you it sucks and you shouldn’t play it on the basis of it being a miserable experience.

@Isildryn @EcoEclipse Oh, I see. Yeah that’s a weird thing. In 11 there is no global cooldown so you can string together whatever you want as long as you have a macro for it or you can menu fast enough.
In XIV it’s… one or two attacks off GCD every minute? Maybe?

@animeoutsiders I still think the story was fantastic and the voice acting was some of the best I've ever heard in a video game. Had a fantastic OST and boss fights were incredible set pieces. Game feel short on difficulty and boss complexity even though the combat did have genuine depth.

FF16 was such a bait-and-switch.
We all thought it was returning to classic FF roots with the more pure-medieval setting, until the game came out and it turned out to be a cynical attempt to cash in on Game of Thrones' popularity, but had come out long after GoT had shot itself in the foot and people had started to hate it.
Still not the worst bait-and-switch the franchise ever pulled. That was FF7 Remake.

@FerdiBacon @animeoutsiders Combat actually has some complexity to it. Spent dozens of hours creating optimal damage rotations and burst windows. The issue isnt the combat it is the lack of difficulty in the bosses that make you never need to dig deeper into the combat
