@Angus_KST Python also, in my opinion, has significant ecosystem usability issues that make it difficult to adopt, especially for less technically experienced users.
Whilst extra tooling can relieve then, it’s frustrating that it’s needed in the first place.

@ryanjchr This seems to differ greatly based on buildings and body corporates. Every MDU I’ve lived in since about 2012 had FTTP retrofitted into the complex except one (which only had ADSL service at the time).

One thing that’s not talked about enough with the NBN too is the house vs apartment inequality. Houses have been gifted fibre by the taxpayer, while apartments > ~15 yrs old are all left to languish on aging HFC and fibre-to-copper solutions that can’t offer more than 100 mbps.

The power outages in SE Queensland and Northern NSW due to the cyclone have left people with no ability to cook or have hot water. Relying solely on the electricity grid is fraught with peril during disasters. @zpuckeridge @Leo_Puglisi6 Great question. I believe it likely has to do with breaking antiquated automated safety critical tooling (from news stations etc) that consumes from HTTP APIs buried deep in the stack - But that still doesn’t explain why, if you use explicit HTTPs access, it can’t work…

They’ve been legally required to collect this for decades for anti-terrorism/crime.

The Social Security administration, and theoretically the registration of living recipients, pre-dates the US’s issuance of delayed birth certificates.

Some of these people never learn their age, and certainly don’t know their birthday. It’s possible there was no standard way to deal with this, so some were left to default.
