Yesterday marked two weeks until the Kansas filing deadline! With 13 days left, there are: 🔴GOP: 120 candidates in 99 districts Since last week: +11 candidates, +4 districts 🔵DEM: 81 candidates in 74 districts Since last week: +8 candidates, +5 districts

Like in Kansas you'd vote in the August primary for your top 4 favorite Dems or Reps and then the top vote getters would be 1,2,3,4 in the list, and then say the elections go 55% R 45% D so both parties get their top 2 candidates as Representatives. Does this exist/is it crazy?

Does this type of voting exist? I had an idea called "primary-list voting" for House elections where there are closed primaries to vote for a party list and then the general election you vote for a party and then it's regular proportional list representation.

Um no it's actually 2 CT seats Connecticut is a 40% Republican state Any map that doesn't have two GOP seats isn't a fair map

IMO, this CT seat is really the only New England seat Republicans have lost to gerrymandering. ME, NH, VT are fair. ME has a Trump +11 seat, NH was drawn by a GOP trifecta. RI could make one seat more competitive. MA can only make a compact R+1 seat by gerrymandering for Rs.

Didn't post about it, but last week I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas with a BA in PoliSci and Geography. Thanks to everyone on ET for helping me find what I love! I changed my degree after starting to post here, but I still graduated in four years.

BREAKING: Douglas County still has roughly ~ 9,700 votes to count. Those will be counted on Friday. These are the mail-in ballots that were returned between Mon. at 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tues. Nebraska CD2 Democratic nomination far from over.
