I stopped by my favorite anime store today, and wow… it was PACKED. I’ve never seen it this full. 😳 No special event, just a normal day. It got me thinking about the "Lipstick Effect". When the economy starts to feel off, people don’t just stop spending…they shift into smaller, more emotional purchases. Like petite things that feel good. Historically, whenever the economy shows stress like during the Great Depression in the 1930s, cosmetic sales actually increased while most other retail collapsed. Or during the 2008 financial crisis, lipstick and small luxury items like premium chocolate sold better. So, I can’t help but wonder… Was today just a coincidence? Or a reflection of our current economy? 🤔
