Unpopular opinion maybe but NUFC scouts are shit hot. They spot young players with high potential often before other clubs. Livramento, Hall, Gordon, Ekitike, Isak, Bruno, Manzambi, Pedro, Minteh, Osula… Their eye is pretty decent. Probably better than Billy’s from Byker

🚨 🤓 IMPORTANT RE BERGVALL: UEFA has made a very important change to their player swap rules which is directly relevant to Bergvall and Newcastle. Previously, any deals between the same clubs in the same window were captured as a player exchange. But on 1 June 2026, UEFA changed the rule. Now if you wait 45 days, it is not automatically a player exchange. Opens the door for a Newcastle deal. Under the old rules, it would have made it commercially irrational to trade Tonali and Bergvall between the two clubs. UEFA rules remain important for both clubs a) NUFC are in a settlement regime so can't afford discounted player trading profits (Tonali) and b) both clubs expect to be back in Europe in the future where this Summer's trading profits will be used.

@bazza080808 It started 3 years ago. The 45 day rule doesn't seem to start until January 1st 2027. May be wrong about the latter. Both UEFA and PL use the acronym SCR, but the rules are different.

Here is the new rule change to all the #NUFC complaining about this deal not being part of the Tonali deal! Rule was brought in due to the dodgy club deals between #NFFC & NUFC plus #CFC & #AVFC SCR guys, get used to it

Afner Cá will be an interesting follow at #NUFC. Prolific at lower levels. But has obviously had size and strength as an edge at younger age.

If we sign Lucas Bergvall, it means we will definitely need to sell Lewis Hall or Bruno Guimaraes. For that reason, it won’t happen. Probably just helping Spurs get what they want from Forest. #nufc

#THFC financial situation understood to have changed after splashing out on Sandro Tonali. #NUFC were offered Lucas Bergvall by Spurs as they look to drum up funds and enquired on a price. Interest but no deal done yet. High level talks have taken place. Newcastle working on other deals too.

#NUFC have £46m bid for Lucas Bergvall turned down. He's got a very complete profile. Constantly wants the ball even under pressure, good on the half-turn, plays without fear despite his young age. He's made it clear he wants to leave Spurs this window, would be a nice pickup.

Further to other reports, doesn't sound like Carl Rushworth is an NUFC target. Don't count your chickens on James Trafford either. Price & project. Things can change rapidly, but do feel this window continues to shine light on perception of NUFC. The identity crisis continues.
