Taxation of High Net Worth Individuals is an emerging policy area, with many countries, including those in Africa, establishing dedicated units within their tax administrations to manage HNWI affairs. Ongoing discussions are also exploring targeted measures such as special tax rates or even a net wealth tax. These reforms are largely driven by the need to strengthen domestic revenue for public services and sustainable development, while addressing rising inequality and ensuring fair taxation.
