You could move to Wichita, Kansas. Meet a nice girl at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Walk to George's French Bistro for a date. Get married and raise five children but you won't do it.

@SullyBusiness Wichita has one of the highest suicide rates in the US for a reason, it’s a shit hole. No professional sports teams, no entertainment, lack of a food scene, lack of outdoor activities.

@InsaneReality Yeah filming it was stupid. In WA state, I always hiked with a firearm for situations like this. You just never know what are going to encounter out there. Thankfully I never had to use it.

NASA’s Artemis II livestream really makes you appreciate @SpaceX’s launch broadcasts. Bad camera tracking, no onboard cameras, countdown timer disappeared, NASA even showed people in the crowd instead of stage separation lol. The screen also blacked out twice during the first 10 seconds of the launch.

@mrfundman $50 would be the right price point for us. We pick it up for road trips and I love it but I cannot mentally justify the extra $100/mo. $50? Sure, easy.

Tesla FSD price should be either per mile or lowered to $69 a month or even cheaper to $49. Per mile I think better. Current pricing hurts adoption. Just spoke to several new Tesla owners, they absolutely love their new robots and over the moon that they bought them before gas prices increased They loved the FSD trials too but not subscribed now because $99 doesn’t make sense financially for them for 10 min commute to work. They would love to pay per mile or during road trips etc but $99 a month is too much for people that don’t drive a lot. Lower the price and increase adoption, actually might result in more revenue for Tesla !

When I worked at Macy's back in the 80's, people who worked there raised families on what they made. It was their career. I remember the guy in electronics retired after 30 years, and my boss in the cash office did the same. The guys who worked in the suit department did very well for themselves. Despite that, the store profited greatly every year, and we were given a beautiful Christmas party in appreciation. What changed in this country? When did it become nearly impossible to support oneself at a job that didn't require a degree or technical school?

We have proof that HEAT STRESS can reverse the brain's natural decline after 30. A 20-year Finnish study found that one 20-minute habit activates BDNF, the "neurogenesis protein" that grows new brain cells, strengthens memory, and cut dementia risk by 66%. Here's the breakdown:

Permanent standard time would mean giving up an hour of light after work for 9 months of the year, to get a little bit of extra light between 9 am and 10 am in the morning in winter, when you're at work anyway. Utter insanity. Permanent daylight saving time is the only option.

@JoeKennewick While I agree with the main sentiment of your post, costco isnt going anywhere. In the past few years they have acquired more buildings in Issaquah including a massive new building they finished building.

Amazon is leaving Starbucks is leaving Boeing is leaving Microsoft and Costco will leave too. And kiss any hope of the Sonics coming back goodbye. The Mariners, Seahawks and Kraken will also have a much tougher time signing players. The capital gains tax, the estate tax and the anti-business, anti-parent, pro-crime attitudes of WA have been driving people to leave for years. The income tax will make it so much worse.

It’s only going to be more. And from an insider at Starbucks their expansion to Tennessee will eventually be a full shift of headquarters. They are fed up of Seattle and Washington’s anti-business climate.

Senior engineering manager at a mid-tier fintech just told me the most dystopian thing I've heard all year His team of 14 engineers who built their entire payment processing platform over 4 years got called into "competitive interviews" last Thursday Management brought in 6 external candidates offering to do the same work for $85k instead of the current team's $140k average The externals demo'd the existing codebase running 40% faster after they spent 3 days with Claude Sonnet optimizing what took the internal team months to build Sarah, L5 with 6 years at the company, watched a contractor from Romania explain her own algorithm back to her while suggesting "improvements" generated by AI The kicker: management is calling it "merit-based role continuation" and making the original engineers justify why they deserve to keep building what they created Tom, the tech lead who architected their fraud detection system, got asked why they should pay him $165k when the external team quoted $47k for "equivalent AI-augmented output" 3 internals already lost their "interviews" to people who've never seen the codebase but can ship features faster with Cursor than the original team without it The external candidates literally used the internal team's own documentation and Git history as training context for their demos Management keeps saying "we're not laying anyone off, we're just optimizing for the AI-native workforce" Badge access gets revoked Friday for anyone who doesn't "earn" their role back The people who built the product are being replaced by people who can prompt-engineer it better One of the externals asked Sarah if she'd be willing to do "knowledge transfer sessions" for $50/hour as a contractor If you built something in the last 3 years, start documenting your exit strategy now

We’ve reached the point of peak political tribalism where Trump could literally cure the world of cancer and Democrats would still be outraged, protest in favor of the disease, and eulogize cancer as God’s gift to humanity.

Sally, do the profit/loss statement for the leagues next please. Then add the context of comparing local ratings to national ratings. Then add attendance comparisons. Then add which league is fully subsidized by a parent organization. You know, journalism stuff

Darryn Peterson is obviously doing just enough to protect his lofty draft status. Then he's protecting his health ... load-managing. He's saying, "If you force me to play one year of college basketball, this is how I'll play it." If Kansas wins, great. If not, no sweat.
