If you are a female athlete, 18 years or over, you might like to participate in one of these really interesting studies being conducted by UCD SPHPSS PhD student Eline de Jager, supervised by Dr Sinead Holden. Eline is researching a number of areas including how measures of recovery using wearables vary with ovarian hormone profiles, and how females use menstrual tracking in sport. Today on Earth Day 2026, we are proud to be participating in the Planetary Health Report Card initiative, which has the goal of evaluating and improving planetary health content in health professional schools. Led by UCD SPHPSS MSc in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics students Jessica Barbulescu and Aoife Kelliher, and mentored by Dr Sarah Browne, we have evaluated our MSc in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics programme for planetary health and recorded the initiatives we are currently undertaking in this area, in addition to identifying further opportunities for improvements that we can pursue to ensure we protect the future of our planet. Dr Nicol Van Dyk is an Ad Astra Lecturer/Assistant Professor at UCD SPHPSS. He is a trained physiotherapist and performance health researcher and has studied, worked and researched around the world. Delighted to see SPHPSS alumnus Garry Kehoe being recognised in the Sport for Business PWC 30 under 30 list!
