Cool heads prevail. Plenty of time for Arsenal to sign another marquee attacker to elevate their attack. This is partly why they would have walked away at the quoted fee of £116m. There IS value and solutions elsewhere.

That’s what happens when you play chicken with a club, without properly locking down the player. Arsenal had all the leverage so long as Rogers was locked down. Berta never does that though. Same thing happened with Monga. Arsenal’s executive is seriously lacking right now.

Nearly every PL club has a legitimate case, plus a few in the championship. The only way out is be found not guilty of nearly all charges.

@woebetidesus @scottjwillis As soon as they are found guilty of anything you can expect every premier league club affected by their cheating to file a lawsuit for lost earnings just like has happened to Everton or West Ham before them. The lost earnings is in the hundreds of millions at least.

@DMcWilliams_UK It's barely June, overuse isn't an issue at this time of year.

We have two Test matches, one ODI, 4 women's world cup matches, a womens Test match, 5 100 matches and various other matches at Lords this season. There are only 5 strips used for top matches so this puts huge strain on groundstaff. And when they get unlucky it all goes wrong.

Preparing cricket pitches is an imperfect science. So I'm normally cautious about criticism. But the pitch for the current Test match is the worst I've ever seen at Lords. And appears to result from the greed that is forcing Lords to stage so many matches this year. (1/2)

@WisdenCricket Having a spinner who can bat is a bonus when you want to pick 4 seamers or the conditions favour pace. It avoids weakening your batting for the sake of options.

Few questions about how have Chelsea complied with PSR. Basic answer is they used Premier League loophole to make a £128m 'profit' previous year by selling women's team to subsidiary company for £200m and that has been enough.

As I said, clubs are furious with Masters / Brittain. Not just Forest and Everton. Why put their jobs on the line being so lenient with Chelsea unless they need help frying bigger fish? Making a deal with Chelsea isn’t a deal with the devil anymore because he already sold out.
