The Arsenal squad depth last season is still here I don’t understand the panic in the fanbase. This same team got to EFL final, UCL final and won the league by 7 points!

@DPJHodges Nonsense, it's almost entirely tactical When you sacrifice 40% of your attacking outlets, it's inevitable possession will suffer Add in taking off your only controller in centre mid Add in the signalling effect moving to a 6 gives It's probably greatest tactical error I've seen

As I was saying, this is nothing to do with tactics, or formations or managerial instructions. This is a professional football team that had basically stopped functioning.

@RKakati @lukemcgee Absolutely Best coaches get wingers to play as fullbacks + drop 2 CMs in front of the defence to create the block. You then still have 4 offensive players on the pitch when you regain possession. He had Saka who's a fantastic wingback & Gordon who's used to this at Newcastle

@lukemcgee Nobody saying we should go after Argentina. Just carry on controlling them the way we were. Maintain some modicum of threat. Don’t retreat into your box with 10% possession. Don’t allow the all time greatest player to play where and how he wants. Awful management performance.

FWIW, Tuchel was right to be defensive. England barely had the ball, low XG and the goal was a freak. If you don't understand that, you don't watch enough football. Moving to 5 at the back probably messed up shape, but the idea you should just go after Argentina is idiotic.

Why is Arsenal letting a player who can play as a left winger, right winger, second striker, striker, or attacking midfielder go? What happened to having experienced players in your team? Leandro Trossard is just 31 and Arsenal is letting him go for just €20M. This will be a big signing for Besiktas. Leandro Trossard is still very able to deliver 💯

@_PhilCosta Good news is we have zubimendi and miles. Odegaard is hitting form with Norway and Gyokeres and havertz will have a full preseason. Mosquera can cover saliba and we just need a healthy timber or white. Hincapie will get a preseason too and Calafiori has had a whole summer vacay

@MrDtAFC Rice, Saka, big Gabbi and Saliba should be given extended time, say another month, to recover from fatigue and fix whatever niggling injuries they need to fix. Next season will be marathon and those 4 being fit near end of season will give arsenal the final push arsenal needs

On a serious note. I think Declan Rice is running on empty. I started to see it towards the end of the season. Once we got to 70 minutes, he was struggling and even had to come off a few times. He’s played nearly 70 games this season. It’s too much. Don’t expect to see him for at least the first month of the season. He deserves the break. This is why we have to get a new midfielder in because they will be crucial whilst he’s not playing.

@BookofAEGIS Madueke ain't been great but Konsa and Guehi have had a fucking shocking tournament No idea why supporting a team means you can't see how poorly the players have performed, in fact it should be more obvious to you he's nowhere near Villa Konsa

People blaming Konsa for why England have been poor when Djed Spence and Madueke have been utterly dogshit the entire tournament leaving the right sides sole protection down to Konsa, will never cease to amaze. (#ENGDRC - #AVFC)

@The__Farmster "No other business area runs like this" You don't want much sport do you ? Nearly every other elite sporting franchise operates like this, in fact some are more restrictive IPL, Premiership rugby, NHL, NBA, MLB, La Liga, the Hundred

The #PremierLeague suppresses teams like #AVFC and #NUFC, by banning owners donating money to the teams they actually own. Deliberately to stifle competition. No other business area runs like this. Imagine owning a cafe and you can’t put money into it because Starbucks will cry

@RaNSaK187 @Spurs_Optimist I really don't understand this nonsense Spurs can spend, because as much as I hate them, they're a brilliantly run club financially, who spent 2 decades developing a global brand whilst investing in a state of the art cash machine stadium It's not remotely complex

Spurs have now spent roughly £235m this summer. Amortised (as the rules require) that's £47m a year for five years. Or just 8% of Spurs' revenue (~£600m/year) Spurs are allowed to spend 85% of our revenue on our squad under Premier League rules. Or 70% under uefa rules.

@Im_RobM You don't seem to watch the game? Zubimendi was exceptional til Feb, several pundits were calling him signing of season, just hit a bad patch. You don't seem to understand financial rules. All clubs are free to build global commercial revenues ? Your team has just failed at it

Pisses me off that they can spend £60m on Zubimendi, who hasn't worked out, and can then just put him to one side and go and spend big on someone else. Just a reminder that Arsenal's record sale is still Oxlade-Chamberlain for £35m in 2017. The rules aren't for for purpose.
