@LucGrefte Long time I saw Remco climb this well. Really good to see. Of course Pog was the strongest, but still nice to see Remco finally show that he can climb really well. Also a great moral boost for him, he will crush the itt.

@vingeupdates If you do this you must test all in top 10 otherwise it's unfair. Now, two riders have had their sleep interrupted while others haven't, and this between two hard mountain stages. Don't like this at all. :(

Jonas Vingegaard was woken up at 2 AM last night for a 40-minute doping control. "I was sleeping very well, but then someone knocked on my door at 2AM. Of course it’s good that they test, but when it’s affecting your performance and your sleep, I don’t think it’s so good."

@RenaudB31 Don't like this at all, less slepp will effect performance. If they have to do it, they must test all in top 10, otherwise some will benefit which isn't fair.

J’ai eu un contrôle antidopage en pleine nuit à 2h du matin, donc ce n’est pas l'idéal. Ils ont toqué à ma porte à 2h et au début je pensais qu'ils n'avaient pas le droit, mais apparemment, d’après les règles, c’est autorisé. Je pense que c’est bien de nous tester, mais quand ça affecte les performances, je ne pense pas que ce soit bien. Je pense que contrôler à 2h en plein milieu de la nuit, c’est un peu pousser les limites, mais c’est comme ça et je ne peux rien y changer. Les contrôleurs étaient désolés de le faire à ce moment-là mais il fait son travail et ce n’est pas lui qui décide de faire ça. @Vanaertiste123 His legs are good. He rode in front 3.5k before Pog attacked and was still 2nd to the top, dropping everyone else beside Seixas who came back in the end.. Solasion should suit him well, more steady steep climb, where the drafting will be less.

@SamBrownMT1 @Tratnikstan Piganzoli was way stronger than Kuss in the Giro. A Piganzoli in Giro shape could have taken 30s on Carapaz. Kuss didn't cut into Carapaz lead at all. I'm absolutely certain a Piganzoli in Giro shape could have ridden 30s faster than Kuss did 5-7k from the mountain top.

@ulrik_o @Tratnikstan By the time Jonas was off the front it was only the select GC guys who can battle for the podium. I don’t believe for a second Piganzoli or any other dom outside of ‘23 Kuss would be strong enough to be there, much less be strong enough to pace to drop everyone but Pog

And the shallower gradients here & there didn't help today, too much draft Solasion should suit him well. Then we will see if his legs are as good as he says

@SamBrownMT1 @Tratnikstan ? Vinge rode almost 4k in front before Pog attacked and he was still 2nd to the top. If he had Piganzoli in Giro shape putting everyone in red, except Pog, before starting to push himself he would have came at least 2nd today. Now, he just started riding without a leadout.

@ulrik_o @Tratnikstan Honest question. What would a mountain dom have done for him to this point? Unless it’s Kuss circa 23’ which is all-time level dom, how would one still be in that select group of like 7 riders when Jonas had to pull to help him out? Jonas has just tried to hang on all tour

@OlsenCycling Since his snap is gone he really does need a superdom in the mountains, a Piganzoli in Giro shape that really can set a strong pace for 1-2k, but he hasn't. But another problem for Vinge is that he is not as versatile as Pogačar which leads him to losing time here and there.

What is going on with Visma? Yates, Hermskerk and Grischa leaving. After a training camp, Wout manages to show up to Dauphine in terrible shape. They didn't recon important tdf stages. They bring half the giro squad to the tour. Team too weak to do any tactical maneuvers⬇️

@Timmsoski Vinge rode in front for 3.5k before Pog attacked and he was still 2nd to the top of the climb. That says something. Vinge himself said he felt strong today but also that he overestimated the climb, he thought it would be harder than it was. Solasion should give us more answers

@LucGrefte @aziiaziizam Vinge can only win the tour if Pog cracks, Pog's lead is too big to win any other way. So if Vinge is still set on winning he and his team needs to exhaust Pog. Since Vinge's mountain doms aren't stellar this tour he has to do a big part of the work himself, like he did today.

@aziiaziizam He didn’t even need to attack. Just sit on Pogačar’s wheel and follow for as long as possible, you know he’s going to attack for the stage. Remco was dropped, so Seixas would've been the one pulling. Instead the only thing Jonas was gaining was making Pog's life easier

Yesterday I was a Pogačar hater, today I’m a Vingegaard hater Maybe the simpler explanation is that some of us aren’t rooting for a rider, but rooting for a race. The criticism comes from wanting Jonas to challenge Pogačar, not from any dislike of him

@Tratnikstan Softing him up for Solaison & 3rd week mountains? He need to take minutes on Pog & it will only happen if Pog cracks & he can only crack if he is exhausted. It's a theory at least :) Vinge said he thought the last climb would be harder than it actually was. So a mistake perhaps?

@RyanDuff99 What Vinge lacked today was a Piganzoli in Giro shape who could do a strong leadout. Kuss couldn't set a strong pace for 1-2k which is needed for Vinge to drop the competition, not Pog of course. But he still rode strong today. Last climb tomorrow should suit him well.

Vingegaard and Visma have completely sacrificed whatever snap he once had to improve his sustained power and it has transformed him into a world class superdomestique for Pogacar and Seixas

@Lecstappilton Vingegaard actually looked quite strong today considering he rode in front for some kilometers before Pog attacked and was still 2nd to the top of the climb. He misses a Piganzoli in Giro shape. Solaison should suit Vinge well. Let's see if he can give Pog a challenge.

@CJ63686487 @Na1chaca Vinge was incredible compared to Seixas, Remco et al. distancing them with about a minute in about 5 k on Tourmalet. Still, it wasn't enough. For a couple of kilometers he could hold Pog's tempo but then he cracked. Pog is a level above V who is a level above the rest. No news.

@Na1chaca heat affected? genuinely looked like vingegaard would be close to this level after giro, but he was nowhere near today.
