@thepmoss @MPelletierCIO Because it’s taking all the liberal rhetoric at face value. The liberals have a track record over the last 10 years of saying a lot and doing nothing, while everything got worse. That record tells us what will happen over the next 3-5 years: absolutely nothing Thats objectivity

@MPelletierCIO Why do you think he was writing with emotion? It seemed like a high-level macro type analysis to me, dumbed down for the lay person. It’s a plausible scenario than the next 3-5 years are better than the last decade. Big projects, resource tailwinds and deregulation.

@andrew_leach @PierrePoilievre So you have no other constructive points to make as a counter argument so you have a go at my typing ability on a phone. “Professor of economic and law” yet you treat others as children. What a high standard you hold.

@andrew_leach @PierrePoilievre There have been tons of other pipelines built during non liberal led government. This government has approved 1 (more like 1/2 because it’s just an expansion). We need a coast to coast pipeline and more refinery’s for our own energy security. The current gov will not do this.

@andrew_leach @PierrePoilievre He’s already said what he would do many times. Repeal the anti development laws and fast permit approvals. And a correction to your previous statement: TMX was funded by taxpayers and inefficiently built because KM pulled out due to over regulation and taxes.

I would love to see any intervention from @PierrePoilievre in which he explains a) why Northern Gateway didn't materially advance during the PMSH gov't; b) what he would do differently today to get such a project built. I'd request that these proposals be grounded in reality.

@Tablesalt13 @MarkJCarney Mark Carney: “we have the best tariff rate in the world” Also Mark Carney: “the economy is bad because of Trump tariffs” Canada’s forward guidance is that the liberals will continue down a path of self destruction and blame everyone else for their short comings.

Canada has the best deal of any major U.S. trading partner — with 85% of our trade remaining tariff-free. As we approach the Joint Review of CUSMA, we want to preserve our unique Canadian advantage — and build on it.    To that end, we’ve created a new Advisory Committee on Canada-U.S. Economic Relations to serve as a forum for expertise and strategy.  To learn more about the committee: pm.gc.ca/en/news/news-r…

@Jumbotronys @ColinDMello Actually I was bitching about Colin’s comments because he has extremely bias views and doesn’t hide them, for a journalist. I wasn’t actually commenting on the video itself but you’d know that if you had any foresight or ability to critically think beyond the surface level.

@ultimate_karen @ColinDMello You literally were bitching about how much attention was on a jet. So then show proof of city council spending $30 million on an item that was for personal use? Everything is about deflection and whataboutism with conservatives. Newsflash two wrongs don't make a right lol

Watch: The Ford government held a 14-minute news conference. 10 minutes of government remarks : 4 minutes of media questions. The news conference was quickly shut down and ministers briskly left the government's taxpayer-funded news conference room. #onpoli

@Jumbotronys @ColinDMello Everything’s always so surface level with liberals. My comment is not about a jet lol Every level of gov spends like crazy on things that don’t matter and then ask for more money to maintain that spending. It’s not respectful of taxpayers.

@RomanFisher__ Rhetoric: “We’re making life more affordable for young people because we removed sales tax from new builds”. “We’re building $500,000 homes a year” Reality: “Housing starts decrease 6% in March” “PBO estimates only 5,200 homes have been built”

@cafreeland @AtlanticCouncil It’s rich that you talk about fighting authoritarianism when you advocated for the seizure of personal bank accounts during the trucker protest. How much money have you personally embezzled from the Canadian government “aid” to Ukraine?

Great to speak at the @AtlanticCouncil on Wednesday in Washington. An important moment to talk about Ukraine as an essential ally and the country’s work for economic renewal—also, Hungary’s vote for liberal democracy and the fight against authoritarianism around the world.

@bruce_mcgonigal And yet they continue to gaslight young people in saying that they improved affordability by removing sales tax on new builds - when housing starts are down year over year all over the country. These people are so far out of touch with reality.

@DavidColetto “Removing GST/HST on new homes improves affordability” Housing starts are down significantly in ON and around the country so what difference will this make? Also who will regulate the builders to make sure they’re adhering to using these funds to remove the sales tax?

New housing polling from Abacus Data suggests recent policy changes are starting to resonate with Canadians. In Ontario, many see removing GST/HST on new homes and reducing development charges as meaningful steps toward improving affordability, even if they are not enough on their own. Outside Ontario, there is broad support for extending similar measures nationally. The findings suggest Canadians are not looking for one magic fix, but for practical policies that start to add up. Good analysis here from Eddie Sheppard on what these early signals may mean for housing policy and the market: abacusdata.ca/what-early-hou…

@petermansbridge @bruceanderson @ChantalHbert @CanadaTalks167 Boomers think they have moral superiority over others. Regular people (especially young people) don’t care about semantics. They care about results and policies that work. Mark Carney hasn’t achieved a single item he promised when elected. Boomers need to get out of the way.

@liberal_party Realty: UK inflation skyrockets as a result of Carney’s money printing. Same happened in Canada after Covid, when Carney was an advisor to Trudeau. Salary’s are also the slowest growers amongst the metrics: x.com/hanifbayat/sta…
Hanif Bayat@HanifBayat

My latest in @globeandmail The paycheque paradox: If wages are rising, why do Canadians feel left behind? Because inflation metrics miss real purchasing power. Avg Annual Growth (20 yrs): • 🥇 Gold: +12.6% • 📈 S&P/TSX: +8.7% • 🏠 Home prices: +4.8% • 🛒 CPI: +2.2% • 💼 Wages: +3.2% CPI misses: • 🧱Assets are largely excluded • ⚖️ Inflation hits households unevenly 👉 Result: younger Canadians earn more but own less. This isn’t a paradox. It’s a measurement gap. Full piece below👇 ------------------------ Provided by WOWA.ca Simply Know Your Options🔍

@TurnbullWhitby Lmao this is a remarkable level of gaslighting. Everything about this post is misleading or false. That same RBC reports that the liberals over saw $1 trillion leave Canada over the last 10 years. CPP also holds most of its investments outside of Canada. Etc…

Good news on investment in Canada this week: Canada’s biggest bank (RBC) reports: “Canada is back on the radar of global investors. Last year foreign direct investment in Canada reached nearly $100 billion, the highest level since 2015.” Canada’s biggest pension plan (CPP): “Canada is at the right place at the right time to attract global investment.” International Monetary Fund: Canada has the strongest fiscal position in the G7. PM announces: Investment Summit in September to include largest 100 investors from around the world. #cdnpoli #CanadaStrong

@gator_gum “We” also voted for Mark Carney to “handle” Trump, negotiate trade with the US, build 500k homes a year, and approve projects at lightning pace. None of those things have happened even with a record deficit and m2 up 6.25% in 12 months. You should sit this one out.

@RickAnderson That same report notes that $1 trillion left Canada over the last 10 years. But according to the 50+ crowd boomers - everything’s fine because we got nearly $100 billion in FDI (where a large part of that is government bonds and a mining company). These people are idiots.

@DavidColetto More typical rhetoric from the 50+ crowd with zero regard for facts. Every stat has Canada’s economy failing along with the hopes and dreams of a normal life for young people. Boomers govern for today while royally screwing the future - telling everyone that everything’s fine.

Maybe even more, I think he's shown Canadians he's certain. I think the great skill in business and politics is not intelligence, though intelligence helps. It is certainty. The appearance of certainty. The ability to walk into a room where the situation is dire and carry yourself as though you have already decided what happens next. People follow certainty. They follow it the way water follows gravity. We are a profoundly anxious species (more so today), and we will attach ourselves to anyone who seems to have already resolved the anxiety we're feeling.
David Coletto 🇨🇦@DavidColetto

Prime Minister Carney has shown himself to be very good at responding to public opinion, more than I thought he would given his central banker background (which is all about resisting public opinion) Here's where we talk about that on this week's @TheHubCanada Politics Podcast: youtu.be/fLAMqQZVz4A?si…

@TrendPolCa Looks and smells just like the carbon tax rebate. In a year they’re argue that it “puts more in the pockets of Canadians than it takes out” - as this policy becomes a driver of high grocery prices and inflation. The people governing us are idiots.
