These numbers are insane. 8.4 million people now claim Universal Credit. Out of those, 4.17 million are not even required to look for work. Read that again. In a country of 69 million, that is not compassion. That is unsustainable madness. - Millions of people of working age. - No expectation to contribute. - No pressure to change. Meanwhile, those who work are taxed harder. - Employers are squeezed. - Jobs are disappearing. And we’re told this is “fair.” It isn’t. A system that pays people to stay idle while punishing those who create jobs will collapse under its own weight. This isn’t about helping the vulnerable. It’s about incentives. If Britain doesn’t change course, the maths will do it for us.
