If you wanted proof that Google’s AI answers just rip off whatever info on a website here it is. Google’s AI gets the date of the FA Cup Semi Final between Chelsea & Leeds wrong. Thinks April 25 is a Sunday. Google’s AI gets the date wrong because it takes content from ESPN, who also get the date wrong. cc @rajanpatel @sundarpichai @OfficialLoganK Google’s AI Overviews / AI mode does not have intelligence. It’s a content spinner that regurgitates what it reads.

I’m seeing a quiet shift in local search that a lot of businesses aren’t prepared for yet. Google’s AI-driven local results are showing fewer businesses and, in many cases, fewer ways for customers to contact you. That means you can still be “ranking” and losing leads at the same time.
