I wrote this about Memphis. Strictly from the perspective of that city’s contributions to black music. Memphis is a city that has given us so much not only in regards to music but in civil rights and labor rights as well.
I will never be on the side that Memphis deserves less.

I lived in Nashville prior to what it is now working at the State Capitol. Nashville is what it is because they withhold funding from West TN. Memphis was the largest city in the state out pacing Nashville, Murfreesboro Chattanooga, Knoxville. That was a problem

Local reporters walked the streets and asked for opinions regarding SAS’s comments about Memphis and the mayor of Memphis, Paul Young invited SAS to the city because of those comments.
