If South Carolina redistricts before the 2026 midterms, Jim Clyburn could have less influence in the 2028 Democratic presidential primary as Republicans would seek to erase his majority Black district. Clyburn’s endorsements of Hillary Clinton and especially Joe Biden helped propel them to become the Democratic presidential nominees.
