Trump just signed an executive order going after mail-in voting, and it is the same authoritarian garbage he has been pushing for years: lie about fraud, scare people about elections, then use federal power to make voting harder. The order tries to build a federal list of who is supposedly eligible to vote in each state and squeeze mail ballots through new restrictions, because Trump cannot stand the idea of a democracy where more people participate. He lost in 2020, never emotionally recovered, and now he is still trying to rig the rules around his grievance addiction. What makes this even more pathetic is the hypocrisy. Trump keeps trashing mail voting as corrupt while using it himself when it suits him. So this is not about “integrity.” It is about control. It is about narrowing the electorate, bullying states, and turning federal agencies into tools for voter suppression dressed up in bureaucratic language. Same scam, different wrapping paper. The bigger story is that Trump is once again treating the Constitution like a suggestion and the presidency like a weapon he can point at whatever part of democracy annoys him. Mail voting helps working people, disabled people, rural voters, parents, students, and anyone who cannot spend half a damn day standing in line to perform democracy on command. Trump knows that.
