@TfL@c2c_Rail It turns out the system was clever enough and did not charge me a peak fare. I will keep an eye out for this in the future but my scepticism was misplaced and thanks for coming back on this.
@c2c_Rail@upthemonkey76 Hi Niall, to claim your refund, please visit contactless.tfl.gov.uk where you can register your card. You can claim a refund via the web form by selecting "Contact us about this card" under "Card management." Thanks, EB
@upthemonkey76 Refunds for contactless charges are handled by TfL, so you’ll need to contact them directly to check if a refund is possible. Their help page is here: tfl.gov.uk/help-and-conta… or (@TfL) on X.
@c2c_Rail Thank you for the reply. I ask why the website over the app when the app is the path of least resistance. And also, why do we not have auto repay for e-tickets and only Smartcards? Same goes for touch in and out? I am unsure how Smarcard is different as all involve tapping in.
⚠️Due to a Train Fault the 07:28 Thorpe Bay to London Fenchurch Street will no longer call at Southend East, Southend Central, Westcliff, Chalkwell, Leigh-On-Sea, Benfleet, Pitsea, Basildon, Upminster, West Ham High Level and Limehouse.
We do apologise for any inconvenience
@c2c_Rail Thank you. I have contacted them but it does look deliberate and they are charging £3 extra on all journeys. I assume this is not expected by C2C
@upthemonkey76 Hell Niall, We are sorry to hear that this is occurring. We have been made aware of the issue with contactless fares. TFL oversee all things contactless, oyster and PAYG. Please do contact them regarding a refund of the difference. tfl.gov.uk/fares/refunds-…
