@Eosintis Don't let a loud minority of assholes ruin your experience. Mute, report, move on and enjoy the game. Don't accept friend requests of random people that haven't interacted with you in chat, because those are usually already chat banned and can only communicate through whispers.

There’s a reason I do not play online fps games. I decided to try Overwatch because there is a cat character. Tell me why, while I’m still brand new, I get matched with people 30+ levels higher and then they start bullying me in chat for not knowing how to play yet.

@puck269 @Matty_OW @SamitoFPS It's an FPS game. No one wants to just stand there and soak up damage. If the tank does no damage, no one will shoot him anyway because he's not threatening.

@uranus_from @Matty_OW @SamitoFPS The job of "making space" is not solely on the tank. You don't need a tank in any other team shooter. A tank's job is to mitigate damage, to prevent damage, like support is to repair damage. The dps are the ones that "make space" with their kill threat.

@SamitoFPS Here’s how to fix tanks imo— give them 6v6 HP pools. Give them cc, but drop their damage to near zero. Their only job should be to make space and disrupt positioning, not to out 1v1 the DPS role. They should be good at this job, and tab stats should be changed to reflect it.

Recon subrole should be removed from the game, worst passive out of all the subroles. Move Pharah and Echo to specialist, Freja to sharpshooter, and Sombra to flanker.

@ggnodps It's not even up for debate. Learn the kit in qp, then head to comp to get good at it against people who actually try.

@whimsygf People who only play quick play don't have that distinction between playing casually or competitive because that's all they know.

@DevinDtv Dude I hate losing a duel against a jumping, AD spaming Soldier even though I mechanically diff him in every other regard just because he accidentally dodged my rocket and hit his own.

Yeah this is something I've alluded to, but haven't straight up stated: Every time you pick a place to move your crosshair to, or pick a strafe direction/timing, you're making a decision. While aiming, you're trying to comprehend the target's movement pattern and predict what they'll be doing when you fire the shot (after your reaction time and mouse correction). While dodging, you're trying to predict where they'll aim and not be in that spot. This is all happening a few times per second. This is why I disdain mechanically forgiving gameplay in OW so much. It simplifies the game to just a few big decisions on the time scale of multiple seconds. It's an order of magnitude less cognitively demanding in the worst cases. This is easy to demonstrate with an isolated soldier duel in comp (but of course applies much more to most other engagements): It mostly comes down to who hits the better Helix. So it's mostly simplified to timing 1 ability correctly, rather than what would normally be a far more cognitively demanding and interesting exchange of aim/dodge/corner play.
Balvarine+@BalvarineFPS

Aiming, like game sense and strafes, is DECISION MAKING. The human element creates a depth that no one, even @Matty_OW scratches the surface of that potential. We need to start framing aim as decision making the same way fighters view striking, grappling, etc as decision making

You cannot call yourself a “insert any rank” player unless you’re that rank on all roles. If you’re masters support but gold tank you are a gold player

@kirizukis I like New Queens Street because I actually get to play Soldier. The map looks boring but plays nice. The issues stem just from the mode because Push in general is ass as you can win more team fights overall but still lose the match.

@daddybludd Best mode in the game and it's not even close. Peak map design as each point has a plethora of options to attack it, thus allowing for less steamrolls. If you get steamrolled on one point, you get ult and spawn advantage for next point as opposed to control where it just resets.

@Official_iPN Don't bother with mid or xsoft unless you know what you're getting into. Soft for your first good pad, always. The Artisan Zero is the gold standard of balanced mousepads. Sits right in the middle of everything. If you never tried a textured pad, give the Hien a try too.
