Nutrition Month The month dedicated to proper nutrition is ongoing! Good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy life, and a well-nourished person is more productive! Today, in Huye District at the Matyazo health center, in Ruvuzo village, #URPHSA joined parents in preparing meals for children. The #URPHSA team showed parents the best way to prepare balanced and hygienic meals. Parents were shown that while it is good to have food available for children, preparing it with proper hygiene is even more important for their growth and development! #FightMalnutrition #BalancedDiet #URPHSAInAction #NutritionMonth

March is dedicated to Nutrition Month. Today, in Rwamagana District at Rwamagana Health Center, #URPHSA met with parents who have children under five years old. We discussed how parents should take care of their children’s nutrition and protect their overall health.Parents were also educated about the first 1,000 days of a child’s life. They were informed that this is a very important period because it determines the child’s future well-being. They were told that when a child is not properly cared for during these first 1,000 days, the following effects may occur: 1. Poor brain development 2. Stunting (poor height growth) 3. Weak immune system 4. Severe weight loss (wasting) 5. Poor school performance Parents were also taught how to prepare a #balanced and #hygienic diet. They were reminded that hygiene is the foundation of good health, and they should maintain cleanliness when preparing food for themselves and for their children. Nutrition Month! #HealthyLiving #First1000Days #FightMalnutrition

A loving touch. A simple game. A moment of care. These everyday interactions shape a child’s brain, confidence, and future. Early childhood development isn’t just about growing up - it’s about growing strong.

IT'S WORLD KIDNEY DAY Have a closer look at this post Your kidneys work 24/7 to keep you alive , yet most people never think about them until it’s too late. Did you know over 850 #million people worldwide live with kidney disease, and many don’t know it because the disease often develops silently without early symptoms? Your kidneys do more than make #urine. They: 1. Remove toxins from your blood 2. Balance fluids & minerals 3. Help regulate blood pressure 4. Keep bones healthy 5. Help produce red blood cells But the biggest risk factors are preventable: Diabetes High blood pressure Obesity Family history of kidney disease The good news? Early testing (simple blood & urine tests) can detect #kidney disease and slow its progression. This year’s #theme for World Kidney Day 2026 is: “Kidney Health for All: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet.” 🌍 💬 Let’s talk: When was the last time you checked your kidney health? #WorldKidneyDay #KidneyHealth #PreventKidneyDisease #PublicHealth Kindly repost to educate someone Follow us @urphsa for more health awareness on X

The Evidence is Clear: Women are the backbone of Public Health. 🌍 New 2025/26 data from the @WHO & @TheLancet shows that women aren't just participants they are the primary architects of global health security. The Hard Data: 📊 Workforce: Women make up 70% of the #global health workforce & 85% of nursing. 📉 Leadership Gap: Despite the numbers, women hold only 25% of senior #leadership roles. 💰 Economic Impact: Closing the women’s health #gap could add $1 #TRILLION to the global economy annually by 2040. 🛡️ Policy: Systems led by #women prioritize family welfare, maternal safety, and nutrition at higher rates. We don’t just need women in the room; we need them at the head of the table. #Gender equity isn't just a social goal , it's a #public health necessity. 🚀 #PublicHealth #WomenInScience #GlobalHealth #HealthEquity #EvidenceBased #LeadershipExcellence

The 🦟 malaria parasite is evolving, and it’s a race against time. ⏱️ In Uganda and Rwanda, evidence of resistance to our frontline ACTs is growing. If we lose these medicines, we lose our best shield. 🛡️ How to fight back: 1. Test before you treat 🩸 2. Complete your full dose 💊 3. Never self-medicate 🚫 Let's protect the medicines that protect us. 🫶🏾✨ #AWaReWednesdays #EndMalaria #AntimicrobialResistance #UgandaHealth #DontJustBeAwareBeAWaRe
