Relentless operations to stop narco-terrorism. @USCGSoutheast crews aboard CGC Tahoma and an embarked helicopter seized approximately 6,085 pounds of cocaine worth nearly $45.8 million Saturday after stopping three vessels off the coast of Colombia. The interdiction required disabling fire after warning shots proved ineffective. Tahoma’s crew apprehended 9 suspected drug smugglers following the operation, then sunk the vessels as hazards to navigation. @USCG finalized a $3.5B contract with Davie Defense for construction & delivery of 5 Arctic Security Cutters (ASCs), a new class of polar icebreakers that will strengthen America’s maritime dominance in the Arctic. Using nearly $25B provided by the historic 2025 budget reconciliation, the Coast Guard has already ordered $13B+ in new fleet assets & capabilities, demonstrating our commitment to modernizing acquisition, delivering next-generation technology, & revitalizing American shipbuilding. The ASC program fulfills @POTUS’ directive to rapidly expand the nation’s Arctic fleet by delivering 11 ASCs, while bringing Arctic shipbuilding expertise back to the U.S. & strengthening industrial capability and workforce development at U.S. shipyards. #SAR A @USCG Air Station Savannah helicopter crew rescued 2 people after they ran aground on their personal watercraft near Skull Creek, South Carolina, Wednesday. The aircrew safely hoisted both individuals & transported them to Hilton Head Airport. No injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard has awarded an historic $400 million contract to modernize Training Center Cape May, which is home to the service’s boot camp for new recruits. This project is the largest shore construction award in Coast Guard history and allows for the construction of new barracks buildings, a new multi-purpose training facility and other improvements at TRACEN Cape May. With recruit numbers projected to surpass 8,000 annually by 2030, this strategically phased transformation will ensure our campus is fully prepared to meet future demands.
