England's colonial history over Scotland has significantly shaped its unique identity and rich heritage. This impact calls for a decisive shift in Scotland's approach. Instead of seeking concessions from the English state, Scotland should assert itself on the world stage by engaging with the international community through the United Nations. True legitimacy comes from peer recognition and support, not from an oppressor. By choosing this path, Scotland can build a future that honors its autonomy while fostering fruitful international relationships. It is essential for Scotland to recognize that it has no obligations to the English colonial regime. Instead, seeking support from the UN will garner solidarity from the global community. A state's legitimacy is not determined by a colonizer that has historically exploited its resources. Scotland must not settle for demands from the English state but should confidently pursue international backing through the UN. Recognition from fellow nations, rather than from a colonizer, is key to true statehood. This proactive approach will enable Scotland to carve out a future that respects its identity and promotes constructive global collaboration. Scotland has turned towards the UN for support, claiming its rightful place in the international community.🏴👑👊🔥

Oh look what I found! Is this now the status quo for #Scotland. They are keeping us in THE DARK.

@JockyRocks @larabirdsnp @theSNP Since 2016: Scotland ~£106 billion cumulative GVA loss; England ~£150–170 billion (proportional share of UK's ~£189 billion total).
English

@userelectro @larabirdsnp @theSNP So England 10 times the size of Scotlands economy has lost & £16b a year but Scotland has lost £30b a year ?
Yeah right !
English

💷 Brexit is costing Scotland an estimated £30 billion a year.
🥃🐟🍓 Our food, drink and agricultural industries cannot afford to be an afterthought.
That’s why I pressed Ministers on the impact of recent post-Brexit trade agreements on Scotland’s farming communities, particularly those in my constituency of Arbroath and Broughty Ferry.

@LauraEWebsterr @ScotNational He doesn't even like people speaking different languages on buses and in their own gardens. Polish etc. Never thought he'd consider banning it.
English

Tomorrow's front page of @ScotNational
Reform's bid to criminalise election materials in anything but English and Welsh - including Scots and Gaelic - is pure ignorance in any language.

English

@userelectro @larabirdsnp @theSNP Oil not affected by Brexit so that’s bollox
So how have none EU exports performed in relation to EU exports?
“Broader economic loss” yeah right so you don’t know then?
80% of trade is non EU
So England’s loss should be £300b a year? I think we would have noticed don’t you?
English

@JockyRocks @larabirdsnp @theSNP Everyone is. Oil aside, non-oil EU exports are down 24% while non-EU held steady—Brexit barriers hit our closest market hardest; the £30bn is total GDP drag, not raw trade volume.
English

@JockyRocks @larabirdsnp @theSNP EU goods exports remain ~£1bn/year below pre-Brexit levels (non-oil -24%), with £3bn annual export shortfall & £4bn GDP hit from barriers—£30bn is broader economic loss, not just raw trade.
English

@larabirdsnp @theSNP Utter bollox you idiot
Scotlands trade with the EU was circa £16b a year it’s now higher
So now the actual fcuk could it be costing Scotland £30b a year ?
English

@ifeeltheneed_ @larabirdsnp @theSNP EU goods exports remain ~£1bn/year below pre-Brexit levels (non-oil -24%), with £3bn annual export shortfall & £4bn GDP hit from barriers—£30bn is broader economic loss, not just raw trade.
English

@larabirdsnp @theSNP Gawd, you’ve turned into one of “them” in jig time. 🤦🏼♂️. Why lie?
English

@userelectro @DonaldClark Funny how confidently people make assumptions online. I’m just enjoying the World Cup.
And nope. I don’t live in England. I was there for a few months doing a postgrad, that’s all.

Word is that Argentine flags are suddenly flying outside homes all across Scotland?
Did the Scots discover mate? Learn the lyrics to Muchachos? Start calling everyone “che”?
Not exactly.
Argentina is playing England, and Scotland has a very simple football motto,
“Anyone but England.” 😂
So, for one night, Glasgow is basically a suburb of Buenos Aires.
Welcome aboard, Scotland. The Scaloneta has room for everyone. 🇦🇷 🏴🩵
English

@mcnugget888x @Biggun26_ Lots of Scots lineage in Argentina, also a Scots chap who established their game.
English

@Biggun26_ Oh dear... take a look, you deluded folk north of the border. The Argentinians don't just dislike the English they're not exactly fans of you either. And just a reminder: whether you like it or not, you're British too. 🤣😉
English

Biggest set of fucking gimps going.
🥊𝕳 BARRAS DEL MUNDO ⚽🍺@Barras_LATAM
🏴🇦🇷 Las banderas Argentinas ya están empezando a flamear en las casas de ESCOCIA.
English

@CarlaCristofani Word is wrong. I'm Scottish, haven't seen a single Argentinian flag. The Scots hate Milei, Trump and Netanyahu

English

@dirkt1978 @indy_swim England is the only team left in the World Cup that is not a country.
English

@indy_swim No, because Portugal and Spain are recognised as real nations. Scotland and Wales are seen as a counties in Greater England. The sooner sleeping Scots and Welsh wake up to this the better
English

Did Pedro Sanchez encourage Portugal fans to support Spain? Did Macron encourage Germans to support France?
No
So why should we support another country?

🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer says Scotland and Wales fans should come together to support England against Argentina tomorrow "I would very much encourage unity"
