I tried updating a UI earlier today with Claude Code. The UX has gotten super good, and it feels so fast to use. Code didn’t work at all. Tried again using Codex, and it took much longer but made a genuinely good looking UI for me. It also didn’t work at all.

I’m only supporting candidates that billionaires are desperately trying to stop. Here’s to more grassroots campaigns across the country, powered by working class people and not ultra rich donors. Don’t fall for culture war bullshit, we can have a better world! VOTE ZOHRAN!!

@userlandleft @elonmusk Imagine having Joe Biden and a genocide still going on, no matter what you think of this deal kids aren't dying like they were under Biden. As much as I hate what's happening with ICE. Not seeing decapitated babies every day in a line is worth it. Biden is pure evil in comparison

Oh come on, now, @theo. There’s no “tone policing” here. Just a short summary of what I consider to be interesting points of the story. Offering a substantial bounty for an Open Source project to get rid of a contributor is an interesting and noteworthy thing. Whether you think it’s good or not. Along those lines: How was this settled?

A YouTuber named @Theo is demanding that the @FFmpeg project (the open source video encoding tool used across the computer world) kick out a contributor (the person running their X account) — and has offered a $20,000 bounty to FFmpeg if they give in to @Theo’s demands. Theo, who appears to have a personal vendetta against the person behind the @FFmpeg account, has released a YouTube video where Theo repeatedly screams that the FFmpeg account administrator is a “motherf***er”. In response, a small number of FFmpeg contributors are proposing a “vote” on whether or not to remove X account access from that contributor (and collect the $20k bounty). Other FFmpeg contributors are pointing out that @Theo’s actions are those of a bully (manipulating a project and attacking individuals with large bounties, screaming profanities and name calling).

@IceSolst I think it’s both, but I think a lot of people either overlook it completely (for a variety of reasons) or only consider it in the more visible/“acceptable” social/socially adjacent aspects like social engineering (also for a variety of reasons).

My positions and pay: Helpdesk: $10.50/hr Computer Technician: $11.50/hr Helpdesk (again): $16/hr Software Engineer: $42,000/yr Software Engineer: $65,000/yr Software Engineer: $90,000/yr Malware Researcher: $165,000/yr Malware Researcher: $350,000/yr My first computer job I was treated like absolute garbage. I had a boss who basically power tripped over me. He would get on my ass over any little thing. I hated my life. I quit that job. I unironically used places like Craigslist to find a computer repair job at a small place. I liked the place, the people were nice, but pay and work conditions were terrible. I ended up getting laid off. I then was contacted by a tech recruiter to do another help desk role for a bigger company. I was excited. It was extremely formal. I had to dress all fancy and stuff. But, the hours kind of sucked and they laid me off on Christmas As is tradition, using GitHub and a tech recruiter, I got a job as a software engineer from my self-taught programming. I was insanely under paid compared to my coworkers who had degrees. I was, as is tradition, laid off. I was then, as is tradition, used a recruiter to go and work at another place doing programming. They paid me more, but still under paid due to lack of a degree. This place was miserable. They had "crunch time". Sometimes I worked 80 hours a week. I would sleep under my desk at work. I was laid off, as is tradition, right around Christmas And, as is tradition, a tech recruiter for me another job doing programming. I was paid better. I had my own office. I was profoundly depressed because of how burnt out I was from work. During this job I decided to start a side project for a subject I was extremely passionate about (malware) and made a website called vx-underground. Then, in a way which breaks tradition, as my passion project got clout and popularity suddenly I was valuable and offered jobs. I got a job doing malware research. They paid me well. I loved the job. Then, in a way which breaks tradition, another company offered me a job due to my passion project. I didn't want to leave my malware research job because I loved the people and stuff. But then they offered me (what I consider) an absurd amount of money and tons of extra benefits As far as my passion project (vx-underground), the first three years it didn't really make any money. As it grew in popularity I now have enough to kind of cover bills, pay myself, and people who help me. My wife was happy that this website I decide essentially all my free time too pays me. Last year, after tax, paying people, paying bills, I profited (for myself) $30,000+- from vx-underground. It took me a LONG time to get paid well and get respected. It sucks but I think it's worth it. However, I don't have a degree and I don't have any certifications.

My first job in cybersecurity paid $50k. I had a car loan, lived in a studio apartment, and was juggling a ton of bills and debt. It wasn’t a great salary, but it was manageable - you just have to be smart with your money.

This whole Hasan dog thing I knew was manufactured outrage and shit that man loves Kaya and it breaks my heart that people are dropping this low now. I’ve been a massive fan and supporter. Forgive me here I’m asking from a place of ignorance, what is with that old clip of him pulling his dog by the tail? I’m genuinely asking here as a long time fan and someone who actually really fucks with him.
