USIBC partnered with @KPMGIndia to convene a virtual roundtable on ongoing tax disputes arising from offshore fund transactions. KMPG experts covered: - Context of the controversy; - Synopsis of the January Supreme Court of India decision holding that capital gains tax was payable in India on Tiger Global’s 2018 exit from its investment in Flipkart; and - In-depth analysis and impact of new circulars from the Ministry of Finance. We then discussed collective next steps to preserve investor confidence by advocating for exit stage tax certainty. #USIndia #InvestorConfidence
