USIBC congratulates board member @Google on breaking ground for its landmark $15 billion AI data centre hub in Visakhapatnam earlier this week. The ceremony, held alongside the Bharat AI Shakti Conclave themed “Collaborating to Deliver India’s AI Corridor,” saw participation from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister @ncbn, Union Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw, and Minister for IT E&C, RTG & HRD @naralokesh, Union Minister @RamMNK among other dignitaries. Spanning 601 acres with 1GW capacity, the project—developed with AdaniConneX & Airtel Nxtra—is set to boost local ecosystems, integrate SMEs, and position Vizag as a leading AI hub in India. This landmark initiative underscores India’s growing leadership in AI infrastructure and sets the stage for a more connected, innovative, and globally competitive digital economy. #AIInfrastructure #DataCentre @USAmbKeshap @Usibc_md @earth2miller @adityakaushik00 @sameerguduru @YaminiJindal

USIBC recently hosted an exclusive, closed-door session that convened military scholars from the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS), representatives from the U.S. Military Group in India (USMILGP), and senior leadership from premier U.S. prime defence companies. Moderated by Udaya Arun, Director, Aerospace & Defense, the dialogue moved beyond status updates to critically examine the structural hurdles currently impeding bilateral defence integration. The discussion focused on actionable strategies to overcome bottlenecks in co-production, scale the establishment of new suppliers within India, and foster a more robust, long-term synergy with the Indian defence industrial ecosystem. This interaction was to deliberate and build directly on the U.S. Government plans underway to convene a Defence Industrial Base (DIB)-focused workshop later this year. This initiative is designed to translate today’s strategic insights into tangible frameworks, accelerating the path toward deeper industrial collaboration and technological parity in the sector. We extend our gratitude to the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies professors Lt. Col. Rajan Pal and Shyam Tekwani, Military Group U.S. Embassy India participants Col. Anthony Hughes and Arkadeb Banerjee, Parag Sehgal, Lockheed Martin India, Col. Shailender Arya, Senior Advisor, The Asia Group, Saurabh Dubey, Director BD, Raytheon and Anshita Shukla, Associate, The Asia Group for their leadership in shaping this critical dialogue. @APCSS @LockheedMartin @TheAsiaGroup @Raytheon @Udy2a @sameerguduru @USAndIndia @sandymaini

Pindi may not have gumption to jointly own IP but will rent territory to def-tech companies, being a perennial rent-seeking state with steady supply of terror-on-hire. Ankara finds an opportunity. Read this paper in the excellent @orfonline report - orfonline.org/public/uploads…

Terrifyingly fascinating
Guri Singh@heygurisingh

🚨BREAKING: This paper should terrify every Physics PhD student. AI agents just ran a full particle physics experiment. Alone. No human in the loop. Researchers tested whether LLM-based AI agents could autonomously execute a complete high energy physics analysis pipeline. Not help with it. Not co-pilot it. Do the whole thing. They built a framework called JFC (Just Furnish Context) that combines autonomous analysis agents with literature-based knowledge retrieval and multi-agent review. Here's what the AI agent did on its own: - Event selection - Background estimation - Uncertainty quantification - Statistical inference - Paper drafting It ran real experiments on open data from ALEPH, DELPHI, and CMS. It performed electroweak, QCD, and Higgs boson measurements. The tool used? Claude Code. The scariest line from the paper: "The experimental HEP community is underestimating the current capabilities of these systems." Researchers argue most proposed agentic workflows are too narrowly scoped. The AI can already do far more than anyone is building for. But here's the nuance people will miss. This isn't about replacing physicists. It's about offloading the repetitive technical burden so researchers can focus on actual physics insight and novel method development. The real takeaway: if AI can autonomously run one of the most complex experimental sciences on earth, the question isn't whether your field is next. It's whether you're already behind. Astrochemical studies on life-precursors in high redshift universe (<12 GYA), which back then had few chemical elements (Popl I stars), exist. In this book, we discussed reservoirs of such ingredients (CHON) & how they’d interact to form life, before a 4.5 GYA old lively Earth.

Amazing Physics@amazing_physics

A cosmic ocean exists where no human has ever sailed. Astronomers have detected a water cloud 12 billion light-years away, holding an astonishing 140 trillion times the water in all of Earth’s oceans combined. It is a discovery so vast that it stretches the imagination, challenging our sense of scale and reminding us how tiny our world truly is. This cloud, seen in the early universe, hints at a time when galaxies were forming and black holes were already shaping their surroundings. The sheer quantity of water suggests that the ingredients for life are not confined to our solar system — they exist in unimaginable abundance, waiting silently in the cosmos. Scientists are stunned not only by the scale but also by the implications. Water, essential to life as we know it, appears in massive quantities even in the distant past, meaning that the universe may have been capable of supporting habitable conditions far earlier than previously imagined. Every observation opens a new window into the chemistry of the early cosmos. Looking at such a cloud evokes both wonder and humility. The enormity of space, the age of light reaching our telescopes, and the invisible forces shaping galaxies remind us that discovery often comes cloaked in awe. This water cloud is a monument to the mysteries that remain, whispering of worlds and possibilities we have yet to encounter. And so we are left with a quiet reflection: billions of light-years away, water flows in quantities beyond comprehension, reminding us that the universe is filled with secrets that continue to stretch the limits of human curiosity.

To revive India's defunct desi-GPS NAVIC, ISRO must launch NVS-03,04,05 (3 satellites) urgently + launch 2-3 backup satellites. At present pace, it might not be possible for ISRO. My analysis 👇 wionews.com/india-news/ind…

At QuBeats, we are one of the only startups in India developing vapour cell based Rb atomic clocks measuring time with extreme precision. We hope to urgently assist ISRO with indigenous capabilities on this critical piece of technology so that space grade atomic clocks doesn’t become a bottleneck.

With the atomic clock failure on IRNSS-1F, India’s NavIC constellation appears to have only three satellites providing PNT services IRNSS-1B, IRNSS-1I and NVS-01. Since a minimum of four satellites is required for navigation, the system is now operating below the threshold for full PNT capability, highlighting the urgency of replenishment launches.
