As a true book 📕 lover and Harry potter nerd/fan I’m genuinely excited for the new series coming out….but also I have a lot of worries… I’m hoping that although he does not fit the physical description of the book that Paapa Essiedu truly was the best screen test to give the character Alan Richman brought to life the best chance of being our beloved heartbroken double agent. I’m less worried about the casting differences (although from book descriptions everyone else seems to be casted to perfection) and more worried that this new series will follow in the footsteps of what every series born from a book series does….such as true blood (The Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlene Harris), The Vampire Diaries (Written by LJ Smith), Bitten (originally The Women of the Otherworld Series by Kelly Armstrong) All of these series ended up being completely re-written for the screen deviating from the source material (source material I LOVED) and becoming another Blood and Chocolate (Blood and Chocolate written by Annette Curtis Klause….the movie and the book were COMPLETELY different the only thing kept was the names of the characters) They did it with the Witcher and all of these other series….i feel THIS should be the most valid concern.
