At SOUPS 2008 (held @carnegiemellon @cylab) @moduloprime and @v0max pioneered the wearable poster concept. Both a fashion statement and a practical way to stand near your poster and the food at the same time, sadly this concept never took off.

The AE never responded to a single email I sent over that period.

For folks who have submitted to ToCHI in the past...is it normal to not have reviews after ~5 months since the initial submission?

The regulation also says that these keys cant be removed without the authorization of the issuing member state‼️ This means that checks from the community like this awesome work by @v0max and Joel Reardon would be useless if states want to keep their keys: washingtonpost.com/technology/202…

@UK_Daniel_Card There’s actually published research on this: most data breaches result in a small stock dip upon announcement, but then stock price bounces back in a few weeks as if nothing happened.

It's still incredible to me that Uber set up what were obviously illegal taxi operations, called it something else and eventually got virtually every city in North America to roll over, say "okay!" and either tear down taxi regulations or set up two parallel regulatory regimes.

Pro tip: in CA they’re required to allow you to cancel online (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 17602).
Comcast violates this, and so when it happened to me, I documented it and then disputed the credit card charge. They immediately canceled when Amex notified them of the dispute.

This window randomly popped up for me stating that employees will read our DMs for various reasons, including if a government requests access.
I already assumed this was the case, but it's nice to know for sure that we have no privacy here.

Having trouble finding it online, but I’ve heard that of the 8,000 Marriott properties, they own something like <10.

I hate that people keep quoting this because it misses something essential. Hyatt, Marriott, etc are not a single kind of hotel but rather about 30. Each has a reasonably strong identity, visual language, etc. The average traveler doesn't notice because they don't want you to.
