@airbnb is currently assisting our host in scamming us, so from what I can tell they can do even worse. What I don't get is how they're allowed to operate at all!

So let’s talk about @Airbnb shall we?? I paid upfront for a months booking £444…. A few days into the booking the host had to cancel the month long booking I had made and assured me I’d be refunded for all the days she was having to go back on the agreement. Fair enough…….

@cami_gumucio @Airbnb @bchesky We're going through something like that now, except @Airbnb were the ones to cancel without giving us any reason for why they did 3/4 into our stay, refusing to help us, refund us or have anything to do with us. I hope there's a fair solution for you!

Also, @Airbnb was not even slightly concerned after we shred our discovery that our host is not allowed to sublet his unit, while turning to the building concierge for advise. Are we guilty until proven innocent, but our host not @AirbnbHelp ?
English

@AirbnbHelp you claim you take the safety of your customers seriously, but offer no help to wrongly accused guests that you put on the streets with no notice. How is this even legal?

@VegarOttesen Litt godt at algoritmen ikke treffer også, betryggende å føle at den ikke kjenner oss bedre enn vi selv 😁

Did anyone ever write the paper "100 bad ideas, and things that didn't work"? I would read it. #AcademicChatter #phdlife

@PiiaBartos I also think it's so important to tell those stories, so that future researchers don't have to waste their time on something that has been tried!
English

@vabuvik During my PhD studies I held a presentation that got praised because I showed 5 different failing research ideas and only after that the one functional. I think we need more such stories, the research is far from getting everything right on the first try.
English

@vabuvik @AcademicChatter Now that you mention it, I'm thinking of writing one & call it my anti-thesis.
That would be the perfect, beautiful ode to my PhD journey, like my 'actual' thesis & the anti-thesis will complement each other!
Also we need more such works to know things didn't work right away!

Interessant artikkel som forklarer hvordan endring av landbruks-teknikker kan øke jordas evne til å holde på CO2!
