society demonizes fat people, treats them like they aren't human, tells them that no one will ever love or care about them, makes absolutely zero effort to allow fat people to have a safe space, and then wonders why everyone develops eating disorders

@fxsweetwitches @aspartameadd1ct that's confirmation bias and chronic illness isn't going to be the same across the board. that doesn't change the fact that obesity is one of the most common symptoms. what you're saying is casual ableism, intentional or not.

@fxsweetwitches @aspartameadd1ct they're absolutely not blown out of proportion. yes it's calories in calories out still but it requires a lot of meticulous planning because of how hashimoto's works and sometimes, you can only lose so much. we aren't going to invalidate and dismiss chronic illness.

@vaeryth @aspartameadd1ct honestly yeah but like i do think the thyroid (hashimoto's) issues are blown out of proportion? at the end of the day its still about calories, though it's true it's more challenging to lose weight if you have these issues

@aspartameadd1ct tbf a low metabolic rate does exist and the intersect between fatness and health are fairly large. hashimoto's, pmos, prolonged high levels of stress, lacking muscle mass, etc etc. i wouldn't fully discredit the slow metabolism thing because it does exist but ^^

@aspartameadd1ct because nutrition isn't properly taught and there's a major food illiteracy crisis. worst part is, that education isn't even entirely accessible especially when the wellness industry is actively targeting people with said lack of education.

mind you, i cleaned the rest of my room already when i had a spurt to. it was worse but she doesn't give a fuck. if it ain't perfect, you might as well should've never done it at all. sick of it.
