The horrific shooting at Annunciation Church School in Minneapolis broke my heart (see video). Sadly, tragedies like this have struck schools and places of worship far too many times across our nation. As a father of two public school children and a man of faith, this pain is deeply personal. My wife and I sit in the pews, stand in houses of worship, and send our kids into classrooms—just like you do. That’s why, for years, I have been advocating for common-sense security to protect our children, our families, and our communities. Let us be clear: when a shooter takes innocent lives, he has chosen the path of EVIL—and must never be excused or misrepresented under the name of any faith. ✅ School Resource Officers in every school ✅ Armed security outside all places of worship Additionally, this has been a top priority of mine since I ran for State Senate last year, and again in my March 2025 press release. A political consultant once told me, “Don’t push this—it’s not a popular vote getter.” But I will always choose prevention and safety over politics. I will continue fighting to make sure that no family has to live in fear at Schools, Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Temples or other places of worship.
