Story time... Since you all have been asking "how'd you get this internship...?" 🤲 In 2024, I ended up doing my internship at an oil and gas company but as someone who loves robotics, I told myself that my next IT must be somewhere related to robotics 🤲 One day in the office I just started googling for robotics companies in Nigeria, there were so few likee And I live in Benin City, Edo State so I don't even think I found one in my state, I saw a few in Abuja and Lagos but they weren't that visible online, and online proof is very important I then stumbled on RAIN (Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria, @RAINigeria and I saw their YouTube channel and the things they had done, they were everywhere...😅 Even though it was located in Ibadan I said I'll find my way there, then I opened their website and found out that it wasn't a typical company but a training center for Robotics and ML/AI, just what I needed but then the fee pushed me away 😭🤲 Most of us have been there 🤲 I understand. I basically gave up on it. And started looking for other companies like NITDA one of the companies I found but they were based in Abuja, I said no problem, I sent them an email (found it on their website, I also messaged some people I saw on LinkedIn that interned there at that time or previously) to it and waited for a response But while I was still in school, my dad just sent me a message on Whatsapp and what did the message contain? Scholarship application for RAIN Ahhh scholarship kee 🥹🤲 My Dad knows what I want for reall It was also on LinkedIn before then. I visited their website, checked the requirements, made inquires, I had to make a video explaining why I want the scholarship and a few other things, post it on YouTube, X, Facebook, Instagram (That was the first time I posted on Instagram, in fact I had to open a new account because I couldn't access my former account 😂😂) and Linkedin That was also my very first post on X, if you scroll down you'll still see my scholarship video 😂😂 To do that video ehh😭 I remember having tests that week of the deadline and I did the video 2 days before the deadline, my friends were such a big help, I also had one of them help me edit my video (@Wic_zy) 🥹🤲 God bless them for me ❤️ I posted the video on all those platforms and reached out to my friends and families to help me engage on it as that was one of the criteria My parents sent my video links to their friends too 🥹 I have the most supportive parents guyss😭❤️ God bless them 🤲❤️ After a week of video engagement, we were sent emails for interviews, I booked my slot and attended my interview. Weeks later I received an email 🥹 Congratulations on your RAIN 2025 Scholarship Application 😭❤️ I was jumping for joy 🤲🥹 Immediately I started asking more questions because the program I applied for was the 1 year robotics program and since I'm still in school I'ld like to split it within my IT period And the way the program runs allows me to be able to split it. I did a part of it last year during my 300l IT period I came back to complete my training with my 400l internship period ☺️
