@bluewmist Exercise usually feels great after the initial 10 min of slog. The key is to memorize the feeling and bring it up to plow through the decision to start

@_Creation22 For a given N, you can compute the number of times each digit must appear in the full string, and total number of digits. Counting the real number of each digits gives you differences to find which ones are missing. Then another pass to compute permutations of a small string

@cremieuxrecueil Important here is a prior? I believe in bro-eng cultures it’s more acceptable to share salaries among the guys. This is completely my own anecdotal xp, but I know the salaries of quite some men and no women, and many times girls refused to share them!

But in 2018, Hired changed things. Instead of seeing a blank to fill in, Hired added a default so people would see the typical asks for people with resumes and experiences like theirs.

Is hiring in engineering sexist? Do women who get offers for engineering roles get offered lower salaries due to their sex? Thanks to the hiring platform Hired, we might know the answer!

@venom1s Dude for every cheating woman there is a man who she is cheating with! (Lesbians aside who are btw like 50% of girls in Paris) In personal xp, French guys I’ve met are closest to indifferent on whether their sexual encounter is an act of cheating on their side or not!

> I simply posted that the French government has banned paternity testing for fathers > £15000 fine or 1 year imprisonment if they do it secretly > French women have one of the highest cheating rates > Just for that I got so much abuse and death threats from feminist women in quotes and replies. They want to cheat, sleep around, have kids with their lovers, and want innocent men to raise them as if they're their own. And when someone raises his voice against this injustice they attack him. I didn't say anything wrong. Still, I got hundreds of threats. Men are being treated like slaves in the modern world. Cucked by the world government.

They banned paternity testing in France. Until a man gets consent from his wife, he can't. If he does a private DNA test without consent, there is a €15,000 fine and/or up to 1 year in prison. The French government says they're doing it for the preservation of families.

@Colin_d_m The primary purpose of most state schools is agenda brainwashing and estrangement from the kid’s family

Homeschooling should be illegal. “But I teach my kids better than the state!” Doesn’t matter, the primary purpose of elementary/middle school isn’t to teach it’s to socialize your kid. You can’t do that alone. And this isn’t even mentioning how it can be used to abuse kids

@spacepunk It’s also quite puzzling that when you meet someone uniquely unloved (not even by themselves), they always explain actions of others towards them through the lens of sex or money - everyone wants to either sleep with them or take advantage of their money

I've been pondering quite a bit how the desires for sex and money seem to be unique sources of suffering. The price of the fall from the garden of Eden was painful childbirth and toiling in labor, which seem to be allegories to sex and money. These two things seem to be extraordinarily subject to a sort of hungry ghost-like misapprehension- if people have sex with me, they like me. If people give me money, they must like me. Its an unfortunate conditional because if one does not receive those things, they feel hated and scorened. But what if you were loved and valued unconditionally? AND it didnt involved fucking you or giving you money? You see this with monks who are celibate and not employed. Ceasing to chase sex and money genuinely Does Something to you. Sex is nice and money is nice, but people treat them as such life or death situations because they are ultimately SYMBOLS of something larger- being loved, being valued, being appreciated. I am not certain but maybe if you genuinely kill off the hungry ghosts, realize you actually always have been and will be loved independent of it being shown via money/sex, that might just be Eden

@DefenderOfBasic Merely ceasing to use money seems to be a remarkably bloodless option for slavery abolition though tbh. It does not always go that well and I am for it. Better than the blood of Egyptian firstborns running in the streets. Better by leagues

ML interview question: show them a random chart and asked what's happening. Ignore the fact that it could be a million different things. If they don't get the right answer in the first try, reject. You only want to hire lucky people.

@aedison It’s not that adhd had disabled him - it’s his employer who chose to lose a good performer over something fairly minor (what was he doing at 9 am anyway which was not doable at 9pm). Somehow I can smell that when the guy stayed at the office until 10, no one was unhappy

Was working on limits and continuity with a student this weekend. It's her second time taking Calculus 1. She knew her limit rules and techniques, factoring and rearranging the expression appropriately. Then she got to the very last step...

Every hour I spend tutoring radicalizes me further. Has nothing to do with the kids not being "smart" enough. They're being systematically set up to fail by a machine that prioritizes curriculum speed and pass rates over comprehension.

@eigengenesis When the periodic table (laws) were discovered, the humanity knew much fever elements than 86, and had no idea there was an order. The only model you needed to « train » here was linear regression. The genius of Mendeleev was far beyond.

i trained my model on the first 86 elements of the periodic table and told it nothing about electrons, orbitals, or quantum mechanics. it rediscovered the structure of the periodic table and predicted the physical properties of unseen elements 87-118 with <10% error.

My intern (future analyst) just came to me with a “problem”… He got a “nice” watch as a present recently and told himself he wouldnt wear it until he got a full time job. I gave him a job. The problem? He just noticed our MD has the exact same watch and he thinks it will “send the wrong message” if they are wearing the same watch. What advice can we offer this young, nervous buck?
